*decides against obligatory “Preemo = GOAT” comment*
Question…
Arguably, Q-Tip birthed: Kanye, ‘Quence, Talib, Common, Lupe and probably some other dudes too… maybe Pharrell and the Hipster Rap young ‘uns. Possibly even the Hiero clique, at a stretch, Monch and them…
Who did Busta influence on that level…?
(Its All Opinions Yo)
April 30th, 2008 at 7:17 pm
good question… i don’t know who busta influenced… he kinda changed up his style..
maybe he influenced like Luda or somebody…

Thug Motivation 101’s gotten constant replay ever since it came out
^^^^^^
I was saying the other day that 101 was a classic album.
Everyone disagreed.
I play Standing Ovation every other morning

be careful how you use “birthed” - to attribute some of the current luminaries of rap to a old head like tip is a skretch

Smh @ Shaq’s weight being his downfall. The reason Abdul-Jabar, Olajuwon, Ewing, Robinson, and Mourning had such a long tenure is because they sustained a healthy weight. Shaq was roughly 260 at the most when he first got in the league, but that ninja was strong as a ox, quick, and agile. Now he just look like a big mofo takin’ up room in the paint. Not to mention he can’t run the floor like he used to. I remember the days of old when Shaq would chase you down for a block or dive out of bounds to keep the ball in play. He either need to lose weight, get with a team that doesn’t rely on run-and-gun offense, or just call it quits. Though I’d rather see the first of the bunch, but that’s less likely to happen.
[end of tangent]

They said that the fire was gone, but it never left
Hotter than the brimstone found deep in the devil’s chest

“No Introduction†is the verse of 2008 so far hands down.
SMH @ Budden dicksuckers on Nah sayin Ransom’s wack. Fuckin sheep
^*Budden-dar goes off*
I’m a Jumpoff stan but I never said Ran was wack. As a matter of fact, he’s top 5 from Jerz right now EASILY. However, I did think his beef with Budden was wack and he had what was coming to him, which was a 150+ bar ethering. And that wack-ass “nigga you gay†rebuttal. I lost a lil’ respect for him for that. But anyway, I downloaded his new mixtape and have yet to hear it but I’m sure it’s nothin’ less than lava (hopefully he stayed away from the down-south beats this time).
I know you were speakin’ in general, but since I’m a known supporter I figured I’d grip up real quick.

Busta’s style cant really be copied. Thats why Luda’s his only VISIBLE son.
But Busta has (probably) influenced alot of MCs. He inspired me for sure. I only started writing songs with the same rhyme scheme going thru the WHOLE SONG after I heard Busta do it…I dunno…If you aint a MC you may not notice these things…Busta just does alot of innovative shit on the mic…
Like how he flowed WITH the beat on Still Shining (off The Coming)…That shit heavily inspired my pen game
He’s CONSTANTLY forced me to step up my flow game. Gimme Some More changed my MCing career forever

Bun B and Master P set the blueprint but Jeezy added a new twist from a modern perspective, but no doubt he was probably influenced by Ice Cream Man and Pocket Full Of Stones
April 30th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
jeezy perfected it
^^^
nah UGK had it down perfect in 96… problem was they weren’t on def jam and there music wasn’t heard in commerical radio, etc..
April 30th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
be careful how you use “birthedâ€
^ Point taken. I was being provocative either way. As we continue on…
Kane birthed Hova
Rakim birthed Nas
Q-Tip birthed Kanye
Lyte birthed (name any female emcee)
G Rap birthed Black Thought, any ninja from Queens, Edan, yo mama etc…
I’m jus’ playin (c) Christopher

^^
Luda may be an example….but he also influenced the whole look of hiphop in the late 90s
April 30th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
Riding Dirty is a classic.
101 is a classic.
And they sound NOTHING alike IMO.
They’re two different lanes.
But obviously Jeezy had to have been inspired by UGK.

word
Busta’s got some of the illest flows ever(no period), I think only Krayzie Bone’s got him beat
April 30th, 2008 at 7:33 pm
Thinking about this more… I guess Busta influenced Missy and Timbo.
April 30th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Billz, I feel you. Ransom deffo lost that battle. But there was a whole brigade of bredahs on some “Ran’s wack” campaign
How can you call a MC like Ransom wack? I never understood that shit
Just because he aint talking to the rapper they worship? Thats some homo sheep shit

oh that’s true… Pimp C’s beats are so easily recognized and very different that most others (unless they bit off him)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wAUweeSPdc
typical Pimp C beat (off the last album).. and he was doin that shit in 95… thats the type of beat i was ridin around bumpin when i was 16…

Wally is a cancer (no zodiac). They brought him in to be a shooter and this mofo is missin’ layups. He needs to go at the end of the season.
April 30th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
What Styles said on this interview is why he’s officially the hardest & the Ice Cube of this era
April 30th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
I used to think Ransom was wack till I heard the A-Team mixtapes(all of them were dope), but I didn’t like his music cause I only heard a few songs and they were all weak, not because of he was dissing Budden,
April 30th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
@ D. Billz
what u think of this … this one of my favorite all time songs… i grew up on this shit…
and listen to the lyrics… real shit..

“I’m tired livin’ fucked up, tired of livin’ bad
Tired of hearing grandma tellin’ me
When you gonna go to church Chad”
“I never wanted to be a G
But niggas depend on me”
“I wish that I could tell you I wore a rubber everytime
But if I told you that nigga you know that I be lyin’
And I’ve been fucking pussy since the tender age of nine
It’s gettin’ to be a full-time job just tryin’ to stay alive”
“But what you gonna do when the Devil poke you with his fork
And everybody sittin’ in the ain’t saved
Most preachers are false prophets
Fuckin’ hoes and gettin’ paid”
