So is gangsta rap slowly eroding?

I think the principle of limits has caught up to gangsta rap.

Is college rap starting to take over?

I think the principle of imminent change can explain hipster/college/colorful shoe rap.

    ^^^^^^^
it’s cause all the idioits picked kayne over 50… if you liked kayne before the whole deal, then thats cool much respect to ya and i ain’t talkin about you.… but most these lames just chose to ride wit kanye because they hated 50…now they the ones complainin
so now all this hipster shit is takin over as a result… yall brought it on yall selves..

you said you like that gangsta shit but then go support the opposite, and now it’s gonna be shoved down your throat for the next 5 years..

the real kayne fans (the ones who was rockin to him before they ever even got close to announin the kayne vs 50 thing…im talking wayyy before that) they cool…

i remember eskay making posts on this site about how “kayne can’t rap” and sayin he can’t stand him and alll that… but then he was kayne’s biggest supporter once 9-11 came around…

btw for the record i can legitimately say i’ve been down with ye’s music since way b4 even college dropout

and btw even though i diss the hispter/nigster movement, it’s only because of the tight jeans — for the record, most of these cats can merk anyone in the unit lyrics-wise (cool kids, mickey, etc. etc.) imo

yeah Roots is dope… they make quality music. “got me” is probaby in my top 10..and probably one of the best hiphop songs EVER…

  18. Two-Times Says:

i always respect everybody’s favorites.. everybody has they own taste, ears, liking and aint nothing wrong about that… but the hypocrites are the ones who ruin everything..

hiphop is based and rooted by people having ‘favorites’.. i don’t know why people deny that shit..it’s in hiphop nature to have favorites…
back in day, you used of have djs have neighborhood battles, and everybody rocked wit they hood and had their own favs… it’s the way it is..

I can’t front on Kanye’s talent, but dude don’t move me. Don’t get it twisted, I got his shit but i have it so I can have an intelligent discussion about his music. His BEST tracks is “You Don’t Know My Name”, “Southern Hospitality” and Gold Digger” for me. His production values are impeccable but I can’t relate to his lyrics. I can’t hate because his Hip-Hop dreams mirrors all of our Hip-Hop dreams and he made it happen… I don’t “hate” every Hip-Hop cat I can’t relate to. Get that Roots jawn!!!
