Jam Master Jay Murder Suspect Gets 17 Years
Ronald (Tinard) Washington, the man that prosecutors believe murdered Jam Master Jay, was sentenced yesterday to 17 years in prison on unrelated robbery charges. The Feds, who have failed to bring any charges against Washington, despite their claim that he confessed the murder to his ex-girlfriend, wanted the judge to do their job for them and consider Jay’s unsolved death when handing out Washington’s sentence.
From the NYDN:
Brooklyn Federal Judge Nina Gershon declined to consider the murders in her decision and stuck to the sentence recommended by federal guidelines.
“One might think if it was such an overwhelming [murder] case, someone would have prosecuted him, instead of hanging a murder on a string of robberies with a BBgun,” Gershon said.
Washington is also suspected as the triggerman in the 1995 slaying of Tupac’s man Randy “Stretch” Walker, one year to the day after the ambush of Pac at the Quad studios.
