not for nuthin EVERY chi-town cat i have ever had the (dis)pleasure of chopping it up with has always seemed to had a HUGE Complex about their city
Like I know evrybody says New Yorkers think the world revolves around (because it does) but.. seems like every Chi-Twon cat is CONSTATNTLY trying to prove how dope their city is..
whereas in NY we dont have to do that, its evident
SMH @ Chicago’s “beach†being a lake LMAO
u need more shorelines
^
lol true guilty as charged our beach sucks but the chicks that hang out there are dope
bottom line tho if you go to a beach in NY your skin might melt off your body LOL so it’s not like it’s much of a improvement

in my Place of Worship RaKim is THE GOD MC, and is revered as such
LL?? Ehhhhhh.. Not so much
I never que3stioned his iinfluence OR place as a legend..
But like you think/ beleive LL > Rakim
I think its RaKim Allah >>>>> LL
and for the record i stated that Ra has influenced/ been idolized by more mc’s to this day, because that is truth, as I see it…
u obviously got another perspective from ovr that side the pond

Neva no shots fam bredjren, matta fact I love it… this type discussion/ argument makes my workday go quicker, and varying differing opinions IS hip-hop to me.. why should/ would we all agree?!!?

Give the dude time to put out some work before you start crowning him the new king of game changing…
^^^^
I never said that.
I simply said the climate of the game changed when Jeezy stepped in the door.
And I think everybody is in denial of this fact. Which doesnt mean it isnt a fact.
That is all.
For some reason, everybody want to jump on the Jeezy-Hate train.
I honestly think Jeezy is one of the illest out.

I fux Jeezy , Weezy and Ohh ya Yeezy ……. but I dont fuck with rap music as heavy as I once did, I find myself listening to original samples and spanish music alot more, but it maybe my older age and just an overall lack of enthusiasm……yet I will listen to all the new shit that comes out just to see if I hear something new and inspiring or that might just thump nicely in the whip, Word to Dey Know

Whats the last ill LP Rakim released?
The Master & The 7th Letter were doo-doo to me…
Sooo…
Rakim hasnt done anything nice since he & Eric. B parted ways IMO.
And I cant listen to Ra now…He stopped getting better in 92. Hasnt changed since then…
And the game caught up to him and surpassed him in 93/94. He hasnt been able to catch up since…
Real talk.

***LOL, nah, it’s not like that, fam…I mean, maybe Banks is the best/most prolific punchline artist, in your opinion…it’s all subjective…also, some of us on here are older-if you’re under 25, chances are you have no idea how influential Redman, Chino, Finesse, Big L n’dem are/were, unless you have an oldhead brother or something…

^That’s just life, not just rap, but you can’t blame the young’n for not having the same knowledge of hip hop as you. It’s mofo’s in the NBA who don’t know who bob pettite is, or Pete maravich, but they can tell you about kobe, that’s just how times are, I had a lil nugget say T-Mac is better than Jordan, my first reaction was to bitch slap em, but I realized I couldn’t be too mad at em, young kids like what they see, then when they get older they’ll appreciate the four fathers, but a child/kid shouldn’t be held at fault for not liking or even caring about the past of rap, now if there an adult & feel like then somethings wrong. I know I didn’t know, or cared to know who Aalon is, but since i’ve been grown, I found a whole new liking for music before my time. It’s just a cycle, they’ll get older & be like “who the fuck is mc gas mask?” He’ll never be as ill as young joc, lol

^^No, you never typed it, but it was implied. When you debate about this artist and you use phrases like Jeezy changed climate, I have to ask what climate are you speaking of exactly? I know its hard for you to believe, but Jeezy is not on as many rap radars as you suspect. Basically, if you don’t listen to mainstream urban radio (which many folks don’t) or watch BET there are several artists that go unheard.
I’m mainly on the underground when it comes to hip-hop music. Give me some artists like Guilty Simpson, Jay Electronica, Tanya Morgan, Little Brother, Blu, Wes Felton, Kev Brown, etc. and that all I really need…

^^What up Joe! Point taken, but it’s not about placing blame on anyone for not knowing the history, but it’s the not being willing to listen that causes the problems. At some point you have to accept that you may not know it all, and just maybe some wisdom can be passed along. A muhfukka rarely admits to being wrong around these parts, if you haven’t noticed…LOL!
Nahright.com…where debating is a disease and your honest opinion doesn’t mean shit! LOL
