@ Joe88
yeah POD is a classic album no doubt..
how could anyone front on tracks like “slow doe” or “the good die young”
but overall i think GRODT is better.. it has better production, and still has that hunger from 50 on it. GRODT individual songs are really strong. I mean look at “backdown” (which is so underrated) is really a banger. He made a diss song that was backed up with ‘most believed’ facts, and had a memorbale chorus, he made a diss song while still making it a banger.
All in all, i think it’s a tuff one but GRODT takes it, but defintely not by far.

that’s just not true… atleast how i see it
that statement might be accurate if you said “akon is responsible for that track being a mainstream hit or breaking in to urban radio”
but as far as sales, not many people go spend $15 on a Bone Thug CD because of 1 joint by Akon. this ain’t 1995

like I said, i know Bone fans. they more dedicated than Wu fans
they and Interscope didn’t do shit to promote that album except pick the first single. the second single they picked with Bow Wow failed hard
Bone thugs sold that album themselves cuz the whole 5 years they was on hiatus from the major labels, they did what smart artists do. TOUR.
they touched every country in between putting out underground shit and waiting for Swizz to sign them

***Good point, especially in the ringtone era, where you can sell a million ringtones and still only move like 20K…I think that the Akon single was a good marketing move overall, to get them on TRL and expose them to a contemporary audience, but now that I think about it, maybe people really were glad to have them back…I mean, they went diamond or some shit, back in the day, right? I can dig it, & I agree with your statement, but in defence of POD, & him still being still in the streets 24/7 the emotion behind the lyrics on POD was incredible. The visual you got while listening to POD is one of a kind.
songs like “I’m a hustler” “gun runner” etc, are classics. GRODT is one of my fav albums, but I think it was the cock riders that made me think POD > GRODT. I use to attempt to put my whole hood on with fiddy, but aint no one listen to me, soon as GRODT came out the same people running up to me like “you heard this?” SMH. From a outsiders perspective GRODT > POD off the strength of how easy it is to pick up & love, but IMO you gotta be atleast at one point of your life be involved in the streets to love the truth/honesty, & witty-ness from POD, (guess who’s back also). But I respect you opinion also, cause overall it is better, but POD is my favorite

^I totally agree, but when a listener only listens to people that they feel are “real” then that’s were the problem lies, I know the majority of people on here don’t give a fuck about a rappers backround, but the ones that do are really lost (not just on here but the ppl I know). I bet if a report came out saying Vanilla Ice killed 17 mofo’s it’s gonna be someone out there that’s gonna listen to his music off the strength of that act alone, it’s like if you do things that’s not considered “street” you lose a certain audeince. Example
NaS = reads too many books
Ice Cube = went to college
2pac = went to the school of the arts
When ppl get into arguments about these rappers they don’t say “oh, that verse was horrible” they say “who nas? the educated nigga? GTFOH he can’t fuck with shawty lo, shawty lo really in dem streets” etc, A rappers backround only hold so much weight (n/h) (IMO) if any.

Bone thugs N’ Harmony’s style was not a gimmick. It was a certain skill that they had developed that set them apart from every group out there.
What was a gimmick was that Crucial conflict joint “Hay”, that was a dick ride off a bone.
Twista’s style is not Bone thugs, Twista sounds no where near Bone thugs. All twista does is rap fast. Twista’s flow is trash anyway.
Bone thugs had -harmony, charisma, street lessons, talked about real shit, delivery, and great timing.
If you rap fast, you have to do it with a purpose. Twista raps fast with no real purpose.
Look at the blueprint 2 when Jay-z Raps fast on Poppin tagas. He straight murked that flow, but It was about something substantial, while rapping fast.

Joe 88,
The nuggets are better off without iverson. Iverson is a team killer, he wants to win but he doesn’t want to win within a team concept. He can’t see himself winning outside himself being the star. 95 percent of the players in the league cannot win with themself being the star.
Carmelo, has always been on winning teams and can play within a team concept. Just look at his syracuse team. Denver Nuggets has three players who play the exact same way, and they don’t play any D.
Denver Needs Some interior D other than camby and they have to make a trade for Iverson. As long as he is there, the nuggets aint going anywhere. That is the reason why he couldn’t win in Philly. He felt as if he had to put a team on his shoulders and be the man to win a championship. He is not capable of doing that. For him to win a championship, he is a number 2 star at best. The nuggets don’t have a team, they have a hooping squad.
