I don’t really know what’s going on in this clip, but Talib looks like he’s about to lay somebody out. I also see Strong Arm Steady and Buckshot wandering around.

Kweli is not about to ‘lay someone out’. the dude in the white hoody he talking to is the national mixshow promotions executive from Warner Records, explaining to Kweli that there is a 3am curfew at the venue/town and the police had to shut down the club/music. Kweli was in the middle of a set when the mandatory shutdown to avoid fines occurred. The crowd still amp’d over his passionate performance, beg for more and began to boo the police for their actions.

My guess is they either cut his set short or cut it altogether due to time constraints. They tried to do the same shit last summer @ Fort Greene park (get him off the stage). But the vibe was so dope and everyone was just feelin’ it that he kept going. Gotta respect someone who is so dedicated to his craft.

This was at Hot 93.7′s UnderGround Jam at Toads Place in New Haven. Talib’s set was running late and they shut it down. It killed it but there is a another clip of him ripping the sound guy for shuttin him off after people paid to get in and are paying for drinks and to see him.
