But It Was Written ? I could see the arguments for HHID or Stillmatic but It Was Written is Nas joining the dark side with all that mafioso, fake ass Italian gangsta mayonaise. (Good album nonetheless). But there's definitely nothing "misunderstood" or "complex" about it. (Minus "I Gave You Power" and "If I Ruled The World"...which really don't match the album's theme anyway...)
