wouldn’t that be having fun at The Devils expense

^ cosign. But if you rank all of Jay-Z’s songs, and put them alongside all of Nas’s songs… Nas’s will drop off to wackness quicker than Hov’s… Jay-Z has a lot MORE dope material than Nas…but Nas’s best shit > Hov’s

Whats good Nah?
1. Hard Knock Life (the album in which the Jay we know today was birthed, perfection of the flow, every beat a banger, first real Timbo rap production, A Week Ago, ninjas forget what this album really is…)
2. Reasonable Doubt
3. Blueprint (depending on the day , this can easily switch places with RD)
4. Life And Times (middle drags, but the it begins and ends with some of the strongets Jay songs EVER)
5. Black Album (Jay’s most overrated)
6. AG (Jay’s second most overrated)
7. Blueprint 2 (not as bad as everyone thought when it first dropped, still way too many goddamn songs that disappear from memory as soon as they’re over)
8. Vol 1 (contains some of Jays best songs, Imaginary Player, Where I’m From, Street’s Is…, also contains some of his absolute worst)
9. Kingdom Come (a complete miscalculation)
10. Dynasty(yes, it contains the best intro in hiphop history…but not much else)
April 13th, 2008 at 12:44 pm
1. It Was Written (possibly the greatest hiphop album in history, at the very least the most misunderstood)
2. Illmatic (come on)
3. Lost Tapes/I Am (since it was label bullshit and not Nas that seperated these two, in my mind this stands as one album)
4. God’s Son (the culmination of Nas’ feelings about his mother, Jigga, death, and dope Salaam Remi production)
5. Stillmatic (not the masterpiece most claim, still damn good. Damn good.)
6.

7. Nastradamus (not as bad as you remember, still not that good)
7. Hip Hop is Dead (yes it is, and your as much to blame as everyone else Esco)

But It Was Written ? I could see the arguments for HHID or Stillmatic but It Was Written is Nas joining the dark side with all that mafioso, fake ass Italian gangsta mayonaise. (Good album nonetheless). But there’s definitely nothing “misunderstood” or “complex” about it. (Minus “I Gave You Power” and “If I Ruled The World”…which really don’t match the album’s theme anyway…)
