Riot Breaks Out at DMX Show in Indiana
Students at Indiana University got their riot on last night after a DMX concert that was supposed to be over at 9:30 didn’t start until 9:30.
When the concert wasn’t over at 9:30 p.m., officers arrived to shut the concert down. DMX was taken off the stage and other officers were called in when the crowd began shouting profanities at the officers.
DMX also had alcohol that he said he would pass around to students, junior Lauren Smith said.
“All of a sudden, cops came on the stage so I thought he might be getting in trouble for alcohol,†Smith said.
Extra IUPD officers were called to the scene when the crowd began to get rowdy, IUPD confirmed.
Eventually, the entire first row was maced.
Sounds like good times.

nah, i don’t see a conflict. i’m not a foot soldier, i got a desk job. (yeah, my job indirectly supports the foot soldiers) but this is a 9-5 for me. i can separate what i do at work from what i feel about goverment/culture/hip-hop, w/e.

And while I’ll readily admit that Patrick Ewing had HOF career numbers, I do have some reservations about his being “immortalized.†To whit:

When he finally got there, the poor kids were all aglow at his presence. But Ewing cut his visit short. And when a few of these tragic children begged him for an autograph, Ewing refused, saying, “I never sign autographs on game days.â€
When a journeyman player criticized Ewing for not playing any defense and for not practicing hard enough, the player was cut the next day.
And when Don Nelson shifted the focus of the Knicks offense away from Ewing, Nellie was also a goner.
It’s understood that character flaws do not automatically disqualify anybody from being honored in Springfield — there are, after all, several time-honored inductees who were in cahoots with gamblers both as collegians and in the NBA (but that’s another story), some were druggies and some were alcoholics. Nevertheless, even as Ewing is being canonized by an adoring media, his clay feet should also be noted

… all the personal shit you said about him and his ego can be applied to almost all great athletes, and can be said 100 times over about Michael Jordan, every teammate hated him he punched Steve fucking Kerr in the face at practice, he ran his business with sweat shops abusing kids so he could profit like he didn’t have enough money and do I need to mention his gambling and dad geting murdered ? but what does any of that have to do with their basketball playing ability, Ewing is still easy a top 10 center ever and I always hated the Knicks and Ewing but you can’t deny how good he was, the only thing in that statement with merit is his failure in the clutch but for every failure he also had a crazy turn around jumper to win the game he just couldn’t win a ring because he was never better than team Jordan or team Olajuwon and really who was ?

Ewing is a piece of shit(he should have retired a knick), He forced the knicks to trade him because they didnt want to sign him to a long ass contract when he 2yrs left on his deal. So the Sonics gave him the Loot and they traded him, what did he do his last 3yrs in the league? NADA ZILCH ….. So the knicks ended up with fatass Vin Bakers contract and have sucked major dick ever since, that deal is what initially fucked the knicks over and subsequently is the reason they started making all kinds of irrational moves ever since. But all they have done is compound one stupid mistake trade with another.
