saigon could drop a much needed hip hop classic…we’ll see
i feel like he lost mad buzz and some respect after the prodigy situation and the flipout about budden… idk why though, both prod and budden are fake

You know what, if vocoder hooks are whats needed to make a stupid ass A&R approve this project, at least we got Just Blaze singing instead of T-frickin’-Pain.
Face it, your granny could sing a vocoder hook and have it sound halfway-ish decent.

word jo
sai = ethered by his own hype
that’s the one downside of blogs
too many cats get self-ethered that way, it’s a sad thing, shits disgustin
but also you have to blame these cats for not living up to the hype that’s been created
if kanye could do it anyone can do it but not everybody has that grind
March 26th, 2008 at 11:52 pm
did yall know that masta ace is 42 years old
real mickey flickey spit these cats could be my dad

^^^^^
Difference is, no-one expected Kanye to actually be nice…Not even Jay. It was only Dame gassing up Kanye’s debut…Everyone else just thought it was gonna be an album with ill beats & wack rhymes.
His expectations were kinda low, & he just blew them outta the water with College Dropout.
Having no expectations >>> Having World-Changing expectations.

dame just helped him ink the deal, kanye put up $5k of his own money to make the “thru the wire” video with scrapped together footage and minimal effects, and the shit was a classic
kanye is a self-made dude in almost all respects
anyone who thinks the “jay co-sign” or the “dame co-sign” put him where he’s at should look at:
bleek
peedi
oschino
sparks
amil
sauce money
jaz-o
etc.
etc.
etc.
and ask…what the FUCK happened to those cats LOL
yes kanye and lupe got the “camel co-sig” but them dudes had enuf talent to where even jay was on some “if you can’t beat em join em” type ish and helped them along because he knew they were going to be stars in their own right
as an aside, chi-town taught yall rap nahggers how to grind, now everyone wants to wear the hipstear gear but the funny thing is kanye and lupe aren’t even on that hipster shit any more LOL
you know you set the trends when years after you abandon some shit, people are still swangin on your old shit haha

Nah, Chea lets be serious.
Fuck what Jay was doing. Jay wanted Kanye to just make beats.
But Dame?
The first time I ever heard Kanye was because of Dame…
The first time I heard a Kanye song on the radio was because Dame almost forced Westwood to play the record live on air…
The first time I ever saw Kanye’s face was when Dame had him co-hosting his MTV cribs in LDN…
Nobody wanted Kanye on the Champions song other than Dame…
Bleek never got that treatment. It was more than just a “cosign”. Dame really believed in Kanye when nobody else did. Shit, Dame convinced me Kanye was ill before I even heard him rap…That never happened with Bleek.
For the space of 12 months, you couldnt see Dame without seeing Kanye. They was together more than Cam & Dame, & thats saying something.
Dame introduced Kanye to the world. Maybe you knew who he was because you share the same hometown, but we sure didn’t.
Obviously Kanye’s got talent (as more than a producer). But I wouldnt know if it wasnt for Dame. Real Talk.

If Just Blaze can lose your respect for using a vocoder (if thats even him, I swear T-Pain was meant to be on Sai’s LP - maybe I’m wrong), then you didnt really respect him in the first place…
I dont see whats wrong with using a vocoder anyway…If it benefits the track, why not?

HEY SAIGON! PUT YOUR FUCKING ALBUM OUT ALREADY OR SHUT THE FUCK UP!
