I dont think he is a direct descedant of them….He has a mellow pattern of making rap music, but I dont think it’s similar to Tribe…

I think people associated him with tribe cause there are some external similarities….But tribe music has been in existence before them and many people have made mellow rap songs…

It’s like Uncle murder and MOP are similar, in that they are consider loud hardcore rap, but I neccessarily would say they are the same or a direct descendant….

Even though it has a higher percentage of weaker songs, I dont think the best songs on F&L are as dope as the best songs on The Cool.

for me the good songs on the Cool get better with each listen, but the weaker songs have gotten worse for me or remained stagnant. there’s a handful of tracks on it that are straight snoreville!

I don’t have a problem with hip-hop lit, street lit, hood lit, whatever you want to call it. There was, and will be, always a place for that in black literature period. But my issue is that publishers, major publishers, are only publishing black books like this or like Black erotica because the shit sells. It’s retarded. Black people read more than that.
