   Ok, so Pauly has to split his loot with a bunch of people but he must be used to the feeling by now, thanks to Ms. Heather Mills. United Press International is reporting that an agreement has finally been reached that will allow the Beatles catalog to be distributed on iTunes, the second largest music retailer in the US. Some might say that $400 million is a lot of scratch for one catalog but come on, this is the Beatles we’re talking about here. Apple apparently has some sky-high hopes for the catalog and we would be surprised if they are disappointed. So how much does McCartney stand to take home? This pie is getting cut into plenty of slices; those who stand to take a cut include Ringo Starr, the families of late Beatles George Harrison and John Lennon, Michael Jackson, EMI and Sony. Oh and let us not forget McCartney’s soon-to-be ex wife. Come on Pauly! As long as this deal has been in the works, you couldn’t wait until after the divorce is finalized to tie it up?

    @Boosie… i can understand the both of yur perceptions of Talib. Your personal feelings are that your mind doesnt function at a rate to enjoy the lyrical ability (No shots fired). its like bone thugs… some people can only stand 30 seconds or just the hooks because mentally they cant process everything being said so they dont enjoy it.

    You personally have no connection to Talib because you dont personally appreciate his struggle, its unfamiliar to you, which is why you stated it doesnt connect to the streets, as you prolly feel you came from and or are still in. i can apprecaite all of that. but dont knock doods content that he chooses to potray in his music. he’s speakin more truth then half of these rappers out here. not everyone wants to here that Swaggertastic dope boy rap rock star music all the time… not saying yo do.

    Well said Q.dot, But let me explain my position further….I’m not in the streets, I’m just a regular nigga who listens to urban music because that’s what’s given to me.

    I enjoy Lyrical ability…But I enjoy Musicality with Lyrical ability…More importantly, I enjoy LYRICAL MEANING…the difference? I can easily write down big syllable words, but does that mean I can rap it?…..lyrical content is only a part of the whole on rapping….I used to be all about lyrics till I realized that lyrical content is only a mask for an elititist…The more important is how the lyrical content conveys and how it connects….

    Lets break it down….Talib raps, but can he make music?…His patternization of rapping is very rigid….his run on sentences make it hard for someone to actually listen to…..Andre 3000 raps, good artist and he is lyrical to the point without overdoing it….Talib is made for writing books, not rapping…rapping and being lyrical is two different things.

    Cornel west is a great lyricist…but do you think he can rap?

    We got a lot of Sangers and singers…Millions of people can sing and sang, but why aren’t the best singers the most popular….Can Britney spears sing? No. Pink? she aight…Thousands of people can sing better than Mary J. Blige…But there is something about her that is more than just singing ability….Just because You are a pure shooter doesnt mean you can hoop…Just because you have high lyrical ability doesnt mean you can rap.

    Are you fucking serious?? How do lyrics apply to rap? Isn’t that 50% of what hip-hop is?

    It’s cool, I know you’re as stubborn as me when it comes to these disagreements on this site hahaha…I respect your opinion because I know others share your same views.

    But Talib makes timeless music, he is not a rapper…he’s an ARTIST. When hip-hop has crumbled to the ground, been beat to death by every happy-go-lucky-baller/hustler who decided to rap when he was 23 to make some money, years will pass and people will be checking for lyrics by Kweli, Mos Def, etc. etc. because they are outspoken and LYRICAL about their surroundings at the time.

    No fucking club/dub/love/thug shit…that shit doesn’t stay hot for more than two months, all that shit is DISPOSABLE.

    It’s like Reggae music, anybody I know who checks for Reggae doesn’t listen to newly released artists. They check for the old Roots smashes from way back in the day. Those artists still tour the world and get that show money. Wouldn’t you want your music to have substance and stand the test of time?

    i can understand/relate to/feel the content of the wire… i just didnt think that the first season was well made (cinematically). it wasn’t filmed, edited, produced as well as a show with that content could be.. so i never got passed the first few episodes.

    @ mark…there are no children here is a GREAT book. i had to read that for 9th grade literature class. it’s way better than the movie.
