Why is that the business side of hip-hop has become pretty predictable? I mean, every other little street gibbon with braids has got themselves a ‘movement’ and is a CEO of their own ‘Entertainment Company’ where it’s ‘more than just a record label’ and they’re ‘taking it to a different level’ and blah blah blah…..just shut the fuck up and put out some decent music you little grubby urchin lookin muthafucka with a T-Shirt on the size of a Somalian tent lookin ass nigga….
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Blame Jay-Z, but on the other hand thats the blueprint for rap artists these days. simply putting music out isn’t enough financially wise today. You better capitalize of whatever fame and influence you have and make some money with some other shit.
I gain what I put into it….that is either mentally or physically…The social force is only in the roots of a generation or two, it does not hold ransom my existence or being in nature….Therefore I step back and process what all this means….
^^
I CAN say. proudly, that Hip-Hop PARTIALLY defines me, because it i s a part of me, but MORE important, I am a part of Hip-Hop. I embraced it, because, at times it was all I had. No emo, just truth. But my children define me, my CHARACTER defines me. No man is defined by ONE thing, IMO. Of course, there are folks in History who ARE defined by single acts but looking at a person’s life ,objectively, many things make up a human. My feelings, above all, are this:
Life is truly made up of Good memories and Bad memories. As long as you’ve had more good times than bad, you’re ahead of the game. Of course I CANNOT speak for all the folks who died in bondage, of things not of thier own doing and infants. I speak for me. And so far Hip-Hop has brought me more good memories than bad. So have my children, so far. Alot of shit has disappointed me, but not my culture….

Wassup, Land aka Sharif from “Menace To Society”? lol
seriously? this is the lamest chorus ever. “that’s a quote from mc shan / without it, i’d be an empty man”… c’mon y’all. 4 year olds spit better rhymes than that.
nice beat though. reminds me of premo on rakim’s “when i be on tha mic”
I donno how you can hate the hook. The shit is real and Mr. Green killed it with the sample and scratching and everything. This formula is hot, keep it commin Pace.
