i was just talkin about this.

You on your fifteenth minute of fame
And on the sixteenth beginith the lame
And on the seventeen you loose everything
    The twenty-first is the worst
    Wishing you was eleven
    Poppin like you was seven
With the feelin when you was seconds
Reminisin when you was just in
    Now you just him.
No longer the trend they dress-in
Now you wonderin where all the press went
    You no longer impress them

I failed on purpose to stay a freshmen
I lose; but I attended school for X-Men
So when I get my cap and gown and put the rappin’ down
I’ll only know half my powers
But I spent half an hour
Like a senior citizen havin a baby shower
Haters want to budget but my fans still love it
So you can ask them exactly ‘Who I Are’
Nine weeks at number one I’m a ‘Superstar’

lupe’s verse was extra dope. but i thought he was morally against jeezy and t.i. what gives?

    ^

    nope

people people thinking lu is a incense chewing backpacker when in fact he was raised on too short, spice 1 and jay-z

plus i’m not going to “snitch” ((c) 2x) but his backstory is well-known in the chi and his credibility is undisputed

yes more recently he’s been on the skateboarding/hypebeast type ish but that’s more of a product of his travels/hobbies/etc.

make no mistake lu is much closer in pedigree to a TI or a jeezy than 99% of these rappers out here rapping about their guns and drugs when in fact they need more people

this is exactly the track lu needed to help grab a little more of that street audience and i applaud him, this shit is really really really dope

  28. HennyC Says:

OK I’ll Go Listen to it then……….

  29. State of Grace Says:

9 weeks at #1? On what chart? Pretty good track, except the singing dude is still unnecessary, too soft rock radio. Lupe managed not to bore me for once, I’ll give him that.

  30. Joe 88 Says:

T.I T.I.P is back!!!!!!!!! He killed that shit. He said he started freestyling his shit around “KING” days, & even tho king was alright, if you was a fan of his, you would know that it lacked the lyrical depth of his previous work. Now since he caught his case he said he had more time on his hands & he was gonna pick the pen back up, & after hearing that verse that was the best thing for him to do.

Prediction: T.I new album will be the truth

    Waits till shanti hears this

my wife cracks me up. anytime this song comes on, she asks me who is singing the hook. i always tell her “some nigga named matthew santos, no you aint heard of him before”, but she swears he is dude from maroon 5. this happens like twice a week. and she don’t even smoke.

in any case, kind of surprised to see jeezy & t.i. on this rmx, but whatever works…

…Highly doubt that, unless that album is straight a capella and he’s saying something of substance otherwise retract your statement because I know for a fact ol’ herpes lip is not going to release an album that’ll make me change the way I think about major label rap.

  61. mizan Says:

lupes biggest influnce was nas, nas - illmatic was the album that made him like and start rapping
