So The Wire did it again, David Simon is a genius

I just did a tribute post for the greatest show ever made anyone wanna check it out, I’m gonna do more posts on the actual finale and the fates of the characters in the next couple of days but for now my goal is too try and reach everyone who has never seen the show and make them see the light and go back and watch every last episode and thats what this post is all about, there has never been a show as real or in depth as The Wire and I don’t care who you are or where your from you can most definitely relate to the show and it’s characters. There also has never been such a rewarding show in history, seriously the pay offs and the emotional roller coaster the show takes you through are absolutely amazing.

If you have never seen it or only watched a couple episodes please for your own sake ready my post and hopefully you will realize the show is about much more than you think and if you still won’t watch it then my job still isn’t done and I will continue to beat you over the head with it until you wake up and see for yourself.

^talib has the intellect problem that all “conscious” rappers have: ignorance is the greatest common denominator so if you talk about sex, money or murder (no bronx street gang) more people are going to feel it generally cause that’s what they thinking about and that’s what gets them excited. if you start talking about mumia abu jamal, less people are going to even know what the fuck you talking about. But really, it comes down to the drum, and your flow. if those two things are tight, you could talk nuclear physics and people would get with it. but the niggas thinking on those higher levels put too much stock in it. that’s why jay chose to appeal to a larger portion of the audience.

Nah, I have been taking a step back from inside the world of hip-hop and seeing what all this really means….

I’ve been trying to apply a methodological basis for why lyrics have become the crux of rap to rap elitist, when it was not based up on from the start…

I’m also trying to figure out why Rap is the only art form where “High lyrical ability” is the measure of standard for respected songs- where as other genres of music, the high lyric ability was not displayed but the altruism of the words and the meaning had a definite impact on the people.

In other genres, the message was more important than the actual elongated spellings of the word…And thats what I’m trying to explain.

this guy from the star ledger ( Jersey paper ) did a 2 day interview with David Simon about the Wire shits mad in depth and he asks him all types of good questions, anyone that watches and loves the show like I do should definitely check it out

yessir thats definitely the theme here, you got Bubbles cleaning up his act and finally being allowed up those staircases right as Dukie falls into the life of an addict that he was born to become, you have Omar dead and buried and Kenard being carted away but you have Michael now taking over his spot as the stick up kid with the shotty ( Michael always was Omar in training and I never realized it until the final episode but he was always about himself and his family, never wanting to be a part of anything else whether it was declining Marlo’s hand outs or putting in extra work for Bodie and as snoop said in the second to last episode ” you never were one of us and you never will be ” well yeah it appears Mike agrees and thats just how it wanted it, probably my favorite and the best example of it though is Sydnor sitting in Judge Phelan’s office in the same chair McNulty sat in, that started the entire show off. McNulty sat in that chair in the very first episode talking about how the bosses aren’t doing what needs to be done and the criminals are being allowed to continually operate and work their way around the law and there is nothing being done about it, it showed that after everything the show has showed us, everything the city has been through all the lessons that should have been learned, it’s right back where it started, FUCKED stuck in a vicious cycle that will never change until the entire system is brought down and rebuilt

One thing about The Wire is you can’t judge it one 3 or 4 episodes because the beginning episodes of the seasons are just setting things up for the end and future seasons, everything is connected in way more ways than you can imagine, and like I said if you think it’s a show about cops vs. drug dealers you are selling the show mad short because it’s about the decay of American cities and who is really behind it all and profiting from it, it’s by far the realest show there ever was and doesn’t even feel like TV, trust me if you go back and start watching it by the end of season 1 you will have changed your mind as the show doesn’t start getting real good until around episode 9 of season 1 …..

…. yo after last year I thought I was done watching basketball, mostly cause the refs kill the game for me, they have too much control in who wins and what happens the last 2-3 minutes of a game but the way the teams are set up and more importantly the way the teams are stacked in the west, it’s gonna be a crazy ill playoffs, I can’t wait to watch all these teams battle it out

but the Ncaa is gonna be crazy as well, never has there been such a wide open season, anyone can win it this year, don’t be surprised to possibly see multiple mid-major teams in the sweet 16 maybe even final 8 ( teams like Drake or Butler should not be slept on by any means )

O yeah i warned you guys I’m on a warpath so I’m gonna keep re-posting this comment also I had to re post it so it was on the front page of alumnah so here you go again, but this will not be the last time you see this posted today

So The Wire did it again, David Simon is a genius

I just did a tribute post for the greatest show ever made anyone wanna check it out, Iâ€™m gonna do more posts on the actual finale and the fates of the characters in the next couple of days but for now my goal is too try and reach everyone who has never seen the show and make them see the light and go back and watch every last episode and thats what this post is all about, there has never been a show as real or in depth as The Wire and I donâ€™t care who you are or where your from you can most definitely relate to the show and itâ€™s characters. There also has never been such a rewarding show in history, seriously the pay offs and the emotional roller coaster the show takes you through are absolutely amazing.

If you have never seen it or only watched a couple episodes please for your own sake ready my post and hopefully you will realize the show is about much more than you think and if you still wonâ€™t watch it then my job still isnâ€™t done and I will continue to beat you over the head with it until you wake up and see for yourself.

… people must realize jersey is the most expensive State to live in, between insurance, houses, taxes and property values, not to mention Gas and food yeah it’s not as expensive as NYC but thats cause theres such little room in NYC, theres a reason jersey is the most densely populated state and also costs the most to live in…. and commuting is about as expensive as living in the city now anyway cause of all the tolls and rising gas prices and parking in NYC….

So therefore YES you can expand your subject matter, you dont neccessarily need to format high level wording in your music, but it doesnt neccessarily make you smarter or lyrical than the next person who expounds on it in a intelligent and more simplified way.

I personally like/ favor/ prefer tracks with I guess what would be categorized as “high lyrical content” see: Immortal Technique (yes I know, the flow the flow) dead prez, nas, canibus (yes can-i-bus) etc

Ok well, I wasnt neccessarily trying to place you in that category…It’s just that in the standards of hip-hop we as a whole give more status to a particular song that some deem as “lyrical” than one who isn’t…

That was mostly to rex hussla which he equated me of not particularly liking talib as being dumbed down….which I have never seen a study that equated intelligence with what type of music you listen to…

Chants and spiritual songs have just as much meaning than a “lyrical” song expounding on the ills of America.

True, And AZ to me is a very dope rapper one of my favorites of all time….But what makes him great is the Juxtaposition of what I was talking about…He was able to speak with such clarity and acuity on a topic that was seen as low-life and low class…

His flow and timing were impeccable, but the way he patternized and positioned his words is light years ahead of Talib….The way he verbally flipped his words…He gave you a bit of simpleness…Then high level wording all at the same time….His versatility was comparable to none….and Yes he did have swagger with it too….and Talib is missing that….

Among who?……If you already have a low IQ and listen to tony yayo, then those people had decreased brain function before they listened to him…..Listening to him MIGHT perpetuate even lower standards but Its not the causal of Low IQ….

Tony Yayo is from the ghetto or hood or whatever you want to call it, so those who are from those areas might be affected by it….

But Rap music does not have that affect on Surban to rich white Kids…To the point where they are uneducated with a low IQ .There are plenty of Doctors and Lawyers and teachers with Ph.D’s that listen to Tony Yayo….

Tony Yayo only perpetuates or accelerates a process, he is not the causal of the process.

The Game Still in Jail

Contrary to previous reports, rapper The Game is currently still behind bars. Although website TMZ.com previously reported that the MC had been released from the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, his manager Jimmy Henchmen confirmed to XXLMag.com that he is still in custody. The confusion over the Black Wall Street headâ€™s release apparently arose from jail records that listed him as having been released late Sunday evening (March 9). While he did in fact leave the Twin Towers facility, he was moved to another facility for safety reasons. According to Henchmen, Gameâ€™s camp is still anticipating his early release due to over crowding in Los Angeles jails.
