LOL. When you take it out of context, it sounds dumb. But IN context its a smart line:
Im back with my (boy), until that man is vanished
Somewhere in the Grand Canyon
These kids is grand-standing
Niggas demand ranson over them grams scrambling…
…”Well fuck it, Van Dam him,
Cam or Blam-Blam him”

I still think Reasonable Doubt is Jay’s best album.
Beats-wise & Bars-wise.
I put RD in the same league as Midnight Marauders
March 5th, 2008 at 10:21 pm

Like every color Giuseppe’s, your guilty pleasure is me
Its so much fun, you shun therapy
Although it never be, the feeling is fleeting
Shopping’s like coppin’, you constantly need it
I’m never around, you constantly seek it
You’ll never be down, i know where your peak is
9 1/2 weeks is better than 12-steps
I keep tryin’ to remind you to keep tellin’ yourself
Now your conscience is interfering, like “Better yourself!”
Like you better get help
But when that medicine’s felt?
We’re back together
Don’t ever leave me
Don’t ever let ‘em tell you that you’ll never need me
My China White, ’til we D.O.A.
Its Montego forever, baby, lets get away….
dam!!

Blasphemy.. I’d listen to RD 10293263 times before I even considered giving Black Album a listen. RD is just that good, flow and wit was on RD, Jay hadn’t matured lyrically and maybe didn’t deal with as much subject matter as Black Album but off flow and lyrics alone RD>Blueprint>Black Album.

What Jay-Z rhymed on “Heart of the City” is what 50 is living through right now, with all the hate, jealously and people crossing there fingers for his downfall, etc…
but i don’t think 50 can out due what Jay-Z said on that song. Maybe in a interview, lol… But we’ll see, Before I self-destruct got some jewels on it…

All I know is Allure is one of Jay’s best songs…
My favorite Jay album is the Dynasty….Jay was on his “fuck you pay me shit”….To me thats when he is at his best…..when he tries to be too introspective, some of his special skills lack.
Jay has smoothed out his flow too much for me, I like the staccato..Super sarcastic jay…The smack you in your face Jay and he brought that on the dynasty….
All in all Everybody has their favorite of jay..I mean he’s good in all categories so it’s hard to say which album is better except when you talking about Reasonable doubt..After that it can get ambiguous and it mostly depends on your subjectivity.
March 6th, 2008 at 1:30 am
All I know is Allure is one of Jay’s best songs…
^It is the conclusion of RD. with that song he completed that chapter.
but cosign. jay lyrics have woven themselves into the fabric of our lives (nhjic). its another piece of evidence that he is the last manifestation of the rakim principle. take a phrase that’s rarely heard - flips it, now its the daily word. (the god)
