you got a point with the compilation part, but 1. its not like the south is putting out a lotta dope ALBUMS (usually singles…), 2. albums need label support to come out and the industry is not supporting the east, so the east gotta rely on mixtapes which are often better than other artists’ albums… what makes a mixtape any less valid of a artistic expression than an album?

When a negro drop a mixtape it’ll usually just be him showing off his versatility i:e freestyles etc, & him picking beat other artist rap over, but a album would be all original beats, meaning the artist has to chose a topic rather than dropping a hunnid bars. basiclly certain artist mixtapes are just a showcase of his talents, while a album gives the listeners introspective on that artist.

pete rock is pretty disappointing (like 4 tracks use played out/already used samples, couple tracks is straight boring), erykah is overrated, budden is very dope although not as great as nahggers make it out to be… i say cop the kool g rap cd and find out if the mastering sounds as bad as the leak thats been floating around the nerd, cause the beats are dope
