Being Lyrical is a thing of the past, It’s a different type of music thats in the mainstream right now, the music that you like, is almost at the oldies tip. Just like your parents music was once mainstream, now they have to settle to listen to it on the oldies station.

Prosecutors dismissed misdemeanor charges against Miami rapper Trick Daddy yesterday (February 14). Charges of disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest were tossed, after prosecutors admitted the rapper did not commit any crimes during an altercation last September at Tootsies Cabaret. Police responded to a fight at the gentleman’s club around 1:00 am and found a visibly intoxicated Trick Daddy cursing and threatening the staff. Police allegedly asked Trick Daddy, 33, to leave multiple times, before taking him into custody. The rapper was taken to a local hospital, treated for minor injuries sustained during the fight at Tootsies and then arrested and charged with the two misdemeanor offenses. Representatives for Trick Daddy said he was very pleased with the outcome of yesterday’s court proceedings.

You’re naming two individuals, that no one outside the internets have heard of, wayne is hardly lyrical, and Lupe is the exception.
Lest you forget, Lupe got the Jay endorsement, plus he is more like a hipster’s version of rap, of being quirky and weird, so he was able to be marketed in that way.
Cats Like term and Joell, who are street oriented lyrical, are not going to be selling, sure they are good, but that style of Music is Long gone. Is it ashame? of Course..But this is the nature of music…Study music history and you’ll see that all these patterns take place time after time.
