Lil Wayne Indicted on Drug and Weapons Charges

Rapper Lil Wayne has been indicted by a Yuma County grand jury on felony drug and weapons charges. Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was charged with one count each of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the indictment. Carter pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday.
With these charges plus his cases in Atlanta and New York, it’d be a miracle if he didn’t do some kind of time. But I guess stranger things have happened. In related news, other former Hot Boy Juvenile was popped for weed in Mississippi. Juvey, Wayne, B.G. and Mannie Fresh are supposed to be at a Hot Boys reunion in New Orleans on Sunday.

As much as I LOVE the Roots…
The “cutesy wutesy we’re a REAL LIVE band look at how we freak it” aspect has worn off. They are a group best seen live. Black Thought needs to be let LOOSE without the constraints of ?Love’s direction and they need to reel in the experimentalness of their last few albums. We need more “Illadelphalife” and “Things Fall Apart” and less “Phrenology” and “Game Theory”although “GT” was quite thorough. I don’t want them to be stagnant but I need more Hip-Hop and less rock star from them.
