What is a Grammy worth these days? Not like if you pawned or something, but what does it merit within the music industry and musical history? I think about the all the people (of very recent history) who’ve won a Grammy or multiple Grammy’s and it seems like its not as prestigious as I thought it once was. Theres no bigger award within music that an artist can earn (that I know of) but I look at recent years nominees and winners and it just looks like, if you can release a record and enough people know about it, you will win a Grammy eventually. Basically, what is a Grammy worth if Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Maroon 5 have one? I think the problem with the Grammy’s is that the music industry is way way bigger than the Grammys are. It only represents a vary narrow scope.

What is a Grammy worth these days? Not like if you pawned or something, but what does it merit within the music industry and musical history? I think about the all the people (of very recent history) who’ve won a Grammy or multiple Grammy’s and it seems like its not as prestigious as I thought it once was. Theres no bigger award within music that an artist can earn (that I know of) but I look at recent years nominees and winners and it just looks like, if you can release a record and enough people know about it, you will win a Grammy eventually. Basically, what is a Grammy worth if Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Maroon 5 have one? I think the problem with the Grammy’s is that the music industry is way way bigger than the Grammys are. It only represents a vary narrow scope.
