Jay-Z & Steve Stoute Launch Ad Agency
The New York Times has a piece on a new ad agency that Steve Stoute and Jay are launching called Translation Advertising.
Mr. Carter said his role at Translation Advertising would be to offer his creative and entrepreneurial ideas. Mr. Stoute described it as not “day-to-day operations” but rather “using his eye, his taste, his understanding of the culture.”
This seems like a no-brainer given the "I-mention-it-you-go-buy-it" type of influence he holds over our demographic.

Dilla was more than just a beatmaker, he was a real all round producer (evidenced by some real musical dudes like ?uestlove who say’s he’s a Dilla stan too.)
A lot of people will say Preemo’s or PR’s beats is better… I think they should be saying “I prefer their beatsâ€. The title for production quality and musicality is not up for grabs, that’s Dilla’s.

But those are famous joints… the work he did on albums, on Erykah’s joints, his own beat CD’s (trust me, buy ‘Donuts’), Busta’s album’s, Common’s albums, Slum Village…. it’s all so nuanced that I don’t think I could make a good arguement in his favour without playing you some music.
