second of all, and i don’t mean to harp on this point, but the fact remains that in any election there has to be a lesser of two evils. i strongly believe that if you look at democrats of that last couple decades (carter and clinton) vs. the republicans (reagan and bushes) — everybody who is not very wealthy and caucasian was better off. muslims, Black, latinos, name it. who did carter go to war with? or clinton? but then you look at how bush “plummaged” (sorry that’s my new word — (c) ransom — i always have to tip my hat to creativity) afhganistan and iraq and how his father plummaged iraq the first time, you will realize that republicans are permanently in the pockets of bechtel and halliburton and are instructed to go to war as often as possible so that these companies can get their paydays. it is a simple equation. democrats are far from perfect and obama is far from perfect. and i’m not saying that if you’re muslim you have to vote for obama — at the end of the day i could be very wrong, so may God protect us all. but i am saying that as long as muslims believe that voting is a bad idea, they will not be taken seriously as a group in this country, because politicians only respond to votes. in any case, it’s a complicated issue, but that’s my view.
