Since Jay’s the rapper, Jay got the fame/endorsements and the leveraging power. He made his move. I judge him not, but I wouldn’t have done that. Family/Friends are too important to me. (although Jay did say “he was nothing other than the son of my mother’s friend”)

Then, Dame was blackballed….

but here’s the difference. I believe DDMG could have been a positive venture. Think about it… had Kanye gone that way, you don’t think he’d be just as successful as he us on Def Jam?

Dame just wasn’t in the position to have a powerful hip hop icon-type artist. Regardless of being the pitbull who pissed off the T.I.’s (runnin’ this rap shit…)… all they care about is the bottom line… so if Dame had something strong to offer they would fucks wit him.

Problem was, with no alliance to Jay, Dame had nothing viable in terms of a music superstar.

And you can’t NECESSARILY blame jay for all of DEF JAM or ROC 2.0’s failures… most of em AINT comin’ with classic material, save ghost, free, etc. I’m not gonna believe what everyone says about someone JUST because they’re all saying it… however, in this case it’s rather convincing..

…..yeah but it would have to be someone I trusted, and lets be real I’m not saying I wouldn’t ever go with any group if I thought it would be beneficial to me but I’m a look out for me first. The whole time I’d being working while at the same time setting myself up to branch out on my own, the more your reliant on someone else the more chance you risk getting caught up in their shit storm, and no matter how good their intentions are at first they might not always stay that way once things start going bad for whatever reason. If they have to start making sacrifices they might come looking your way, so you best be prepared.

A position of power is something you crave and desire so that you can benefit off the hard work of others while you just sit back and collect your money, if you don’t desire to have that control if your ego isn’t so big that you want to control people than you aren’t gonna seek that position of authority out, no body wants to be in control so they can be fair and everyone can eat the same, you want to be top dog so you run shit and everyone has to answer to you, so basically I have a natural mistrust with anyone with such aspirations….
