when YN got fired, I was looking through the Banger sections, and all I saw was that Dude Brendan’s name under the posts, then I started clicking all the older post and none of the posts that had your name was there so I’m thinking that you got fired and your contract got renewed.

The thing is why are you trying to stop other’s people source of entertainment? Like in the long run it hurts you…Like when eminem was making fun of back street boys and Britney spears, it was funny for the moment but kind of became the staple of his existence going after harmless teeny boppers.

and secondly hes not seeing that in a few years their will be somebody yonger than him trying to make it and hes the one who will be old news…. The public sticks to a phase for only so long… hes already talking like people wont abandon him… they will

I see what you’re saying Boosie, but Gza hasn’t gone out of control with it like Em did with teeny boppers. He’s actually been pretty quiet since he first said it. It seems he just said his piece and moved on. Soulja Boy is still going around talking about when the shit happened like a month ago.

Nobody was up in arms when Snoop was shitting on Souljah Boy on Jamie Foxx’s Foxxhole Radio. He said the song was straight bullshit and kept saying “YYYOOOUUU!!! That’s some ol’ bullshit but they play it enough and people get brainwashed”. I was listening to Jim Rome on Monday and his guest host proclaimed Souljah Boy to have the worst song to play on radio in the last ten years. Nobody gets upset with that.

Producers need to stop trying to rap on their tracks. Swizz, Puff, Timbaland, Pharell, etc. etc. etc. How many insane beats have to be ruined?
January 22nd, 2008 at 8:50 pm
On staging a rap duel between him and Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA/Genius, who dissed Soulja Boy on a YouTube video:
I wouldn’t even rap against the Genius. I’d put up someone who was born in ’66 to go against the Genius so it can be a tie. He’s got like 50 years on me. I wouldn’t even associate with the Genius. [In the video] he was looking like I stole his money or something. He’s in Alaska. He’s cold. I just heard 50 Cent talking about the Genius saying he had an Impala his age. Well, that’s the Genius for you. [Laughs.] He has no choice. He got famous for five little minutes, but he had to sacrifice a relationship with Soulja Boy. Now it’s gone. I ain’t gonna be like “F the GZA†‘cause I ain’t never met that dude. But he says, “F Soulja Boy†‘cause he needed a buzz. Now he’s back in Alaska.

True, but thats not Soulja’s intention to be lyrical, not every rapper has to be some lyrical Genious. Souljah boy is making the music he wants to do, and millions of people are downloading it.
He is not your target audience so you shouldnt expect much from him. Just like I never fucked with Nsync or B2k, but they werent targeted towards me. Not everything is for everbody.

it’s funny he says 50 don’t have lyrics,
will what about
Jim Jones
Cam’ron
Birdman
Mims
etc…
it’s obivous he jealous that’s why he only threw 50′s name in there…
the Real Reason Gza said 50 don’t have lyrics is because he uncomfortable with 50′s success and he got jealous and hater tendencies
cause KRS-ONE never said 50 didn’t have lyrics..he always praise 50
and Jay-Z put 50 in his Top 5…
those 2 don’t have the same problem Gza does..

anyone with half a brain will see the same in regards to souljah boy when s/he gets older
gza should know better

I dont see how its doing hip hop as a disservice? Its just entertainment man. Just like you said you thought kriss kross was the shit. Like you said people get older and realize whats for the kids and for the adults..

Two-Times, I admire your ability to take a bad joke and beat it to death, pretty much to the point where the original humor is ruined forever.

Let’s be real for a second…
We can have this debate all night but seriously, you don’t feel your brain rot just a little bit everytime you hear that shit?

No, I just take it at face value for what it is….I dont measure a soulja boy song against a talib kweli song, and say…”this is how music should be made”
What Im saying is I dont put that much weight on his song…for it to have an affect on me…It’s a fun little silly song, with a dance, nothing more nothing less.

Different people listen to different music to gain different experiences.
Lets leave this Soulja Boy shit at that.
There was a niche in the game (fun, accessible, hip-hop dance music) & he filled the gap (none).
If you dont like Soulja Boy, its probably because your not MEANT to like Soulja Boy.
Even if he will just have 15mins of fame, so what? Let him get his 15mins. Shit, let him get 20mins, I aint mad.
Bredahs a WORLDWIDE PHENOMENON. He didnt FORCE people to download his shit.
He even ADMITS he’s not a good lyricist. What more you want from him? An apology for blowing up?
He aint fronting like he can outRAP dudes…so he aint doing nothing wrong IMO…

Alright, Alright I’m done with the Souljah Boy shit too…I’m ashamed I even thought about that him today, arguing about him is even worse.
What albums are you cats checking for? The only thing I know about even worth checking for is that Pete Rock album, the Slum Village “Gangsta Boogie” track is real tight and everything else I’ve heard is crazy

That’s where my “hate†for Souljah Boy comes from…just knowing that idiots all over the world are listening to that shit. Let’s be real, knowbody will be sticking up for him two years from now. He’ll be a punchline to jokes and thats it.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Knowledge and your listening choices are not synonymous with one another. Sorry to say but just like people watch a pop corn action flick for entertainment is the same way some people listen to soulja Boy for entertainment. Yeah he’s garbage and yeah he’s straight garbage, but the demographic listening to him are kids, and HS/college girls. I already said this but you’ll find a lot of girls in with crazy high gpa’s listening to this bullshit. Also some people just can’t help it when they start playing a random soulja boy song on the radio. Also non hip hop listeners who never want to explore the genre just gravitate to whatever is on the radio. Radio is commercial, blame bet and mtv and the record label execs.
