I feel you on this one. I think her public aura was so optimist and positive that when her real life situations came to light, she had to re-affirm that she was, also, human. She always had poems and writings of sexual nature (The Black Lily, a collective of women poets and artists who USED to perform in Philly once a month) but I think her label wanted her to have an organic, strong Black woman image. I TRY to eat healthy, and I don’t do fact food or proccessed meats too much. My issue is portion control. I’m not visibly fat looking but I KNOW could lose a few pounds.

I was hospitalized at the end of Nov./early Dec. and found out I have type 2 diabetes and hypertention. (no needles) And the most PROFOUND thing my MD said was “YOU (me) control this. You gotta eat to live.” I’ve lost 8 pounds…
