Long time XXL editor-in-chief Elliott Wilson was suddenly fired from his post at the rap magazine today (Jan. 7).
Undisclosed sources from inside the XXL offices have confirmed that Wilson was terminated, though as of press time no reason has been offered. SOHH has learned that Wilson’s contract with XXL parent company, Harris Publications, was up this month. Souces say deputy Editor, Vanessa Satten, has been appointed interim EIC.

Damn, I thought YN was kinda arrogant and I thought his editorials were way too personal and inflammatory BUT he had swagger and his arrogance was justified. I don’t know of any successful people who aren’t arrogant. But he was honest and he admitted his wrongs, faults and failures. He willed XXL to the top of the Hip Hop Mag game and for that he should he commended. Remember how we used to start with the BACK of the Source to see who got how many mics? Well, he had use starting at the FRONT with his editorials, if only to piss us off. That’s GAME. Were there too many Interscope covers? Of course but the bottom line is XXL is a BUSINESS and those covers were good for business. His direction was the main reason XXL overtook the Source as the “go to” Hip Hop mag. He will be missed but catz like him always land on their feet. He’ll use this as motivation for his next endevour. “La’Chaime”, YN, La’Chaime…

well, i always started at the beginning with YN’s consistently entertaining, often infuriating, op-editorials. anyone can say anything they want about elliot wilson but in my personal opinion Harris Pub has made a HUGE mistake canning the guy, even if his own hubris and polarizing personal flaws/attributes were what lead to said canning.

Romney has the look, but people are suspicious of Mormons (rightfully so), so right now, I’m calling it for Fuckabee. But he’s going to break up the party and finally destroy the retarded alliance of social and fiscal conservatives, ensuring that unless the Democrats fuck up on an unprecedented level, the election is theirs.
