***LOL @ Tone Loc…I ask myself that question all the time…musical tastes ebb and flow constantly, and i think that an artist’s survival woulda depended on his ability to adapt and reinvent himself…Biggie seemed like he was more open (nah) to taking direction and advice, and experimenting musically, whereas I think Pac was close to hitting the wall, creatively speaking…who knows, though- age and experience coulda changed everything- I remember reading that Big wanted to step away from the limelight, and focus on his YN’s junior Mafia- I assume Pac had the same vision for the Outlawz, being that he started a label of his own, right before his demise…

One thing that makes me think that Big would still be around is that his influence still looms so large in the game, and nukkas with affiliations to him, like Jay and the Lox, are still in the game…the entire west coast has fallen off the map, as far as hip hop goes- I mean, besides Snoop, who even gets mentioned anymore? Big had ridiculous wordplay, too, and IMO, he was a few notches above Pac as a lyricist…that being said, I enjoyed Pac’s work, too (nope), and I would have loved for those two to reconcile (no divorce court) and make great music together…
