Der Fernsehsender CNBC zum Beispiel beruft sich auf Internet-GerÃ¼chte, nach denen Apple mit Jay-Z als Zugpferd und Labelchef eine eigene Plattenfirma hochziehen will. Klingt wie eine superdÃ¤mliche Idee in meinen Ohren, soll allerdings bald confirmed werden. Hoffentlich stellt mal jemand eine Rechnung auf, wie viele Songs Steve Jobs im iTunes-StoreÂ verticken muss, um Jay-Z Fantasie-Gehalt wieder reinzuholen. Mein Lieblings-GerÃ¼cht zu diesem Thema dreht sich allerdings um den ewig unkaputtbaren Chuck D, seines Zeichens eines der wenigen Public Enemy-Mitglieder, das sich noch nicht lÃ¤cherlich gemacht hat, indem es Juden disst oder mit kettenrauchenden, hysterischen Dickerchen rumturtelt, die zu allem Ãœberfluss auch noch “New York” heissen. Genau dieser Chuck D also hat sich selbst als nÃ¤chster Def Jam-Boss ins GesprÃ¤ch gebracht und sogar schon einen richtigen Business Plan verfasst. Bitte lasst ihn. Ich sehe Public Enemy auf N1-Rotation, den Tod aller PlattenlÃ¤den und Presswerke, weil Chuck einfach alles Ã¼ber mp3’s verschiebt, und ein DJ Envy-Mixtape voller Flavor Flav-Freestyles Ã¼ber Just Blaze-Beats. Killer. Ahja, und wenn tatsÃ¤chlich Jermaine Dupri neuer Def Jam-Man (rhyme intended)Â werden sollte, wieÂ geflÃ¼stert wird, verkaufe ich alle meine Rap-Platten, fang an, fÃ¼r die Spex zu schreiben und hÃ¶re nur noch Retro-Bands, die mit “The” anfangen.Â Ich jedenfalls hab keinen Bock darauf, auf dem nÃ¤chsten Juelz Santana-Album Auto-Tune, Balladen mit Glockensamples und/oder Janet Jackson-Features vernehmen zu mÃ¼ssen.
