Blue Magic is more hip-hop than Shook Ones.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Man, you can’t be serious. Blue Magic witty but lacking any content, regular bragging, pop infused beat.
Hip Hop started with partying and consious or fun lyrics, Jay may have that down beat wise with Blue Magic but apart from that shit ain’t hip hop compared to shook ones.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:23 pm
so Eskay would you rather listen to the Infamous or American Gangster? Be Honest Negroe, all jokes aside all vocals aside(c) Sean Price
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:23 pm
I like the soul infused beats on AG, AG is a pretty solid album
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:24 pm
If Papoose had antlers he’d be on my grandfather’s wall.

^ you just ethered your own argument.
Blue magic does not lack content, you just lack analytical skills.
just cuz something is more gangster doesn’t mean it’s more hip-hop.

^^Lacking content? He namechecks Ronald Reagan and Oliver North and implicates them in helping to foster crack in the 80s through illicit Iran-Contra funds. What content does Shook Ones have? “We’re black Leprechauns and we’re pissed about how midgety we areâ€

I cant believe you guys are shitting on Shook Ones *leaves in disgust for a few minutes*
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:27 pm
>>so Eskay would you rather listen to the Infamous or American Gangster?
AG, but that’s not a fair question. I’ve head Infamous more times than I can count. I’m an admitted Jay stan and I have a well known bias against Pee-Pee. one has been out 10 years the other 2 months.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:27 pm
Jay’s lyrical content is shallow, people admire his wittiness on records, due to the double entrandes and punchlines. But seriously this dude ain’t diverse, sticks to the same formula all the time afraid to divulge from usual a pop record or the usual “I drink ace of spades nigga, I got a maybach, used to move that white” blah blah blah shit.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:27 pm

thank you. end of argument.

I just thought maybe we’d go one day without mentioning that nigga Shawn Carter’s name.

the arguments over, but you know that ain’t true nigga so stop it.
and what fucking lyrical content does P have? he ever strays from pulling out mac’s, punching niggas in the face and rocking jewels? (oh sorry, he don’t rock jewels no more, smh).
at least we know Jay really owns the Maybach.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:29 pm
papoose would look cute if he didnt wear such big caps
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:30 pm
whats good @ Willy Sag
I don’t think it is gay to be able to determine whether a motherfucker is ugly or not. If you don’t like looking in a motherfuckers direction because it makes your eyes bleed then he just ugly. Other than that I guess the nigga is okay
- – - – - –
Blue Magic would’ve worked for me if Hov would’ve jacked Kool Mo D’s flow. It wouldv’e killed that beat
The Infamous > AG IMO because I will listen to that album for the rest of my life. But on the same note:
Reasonable Doubt > The Infamous a huge margin

LMAO @ that argument
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:32 pm
and what fucking lyrical content does P have?
^^Well, he does know about the Mars pyramids, so he’s up on his 1990 Schwarzenegger flicks. I wonder if he has the same dvd that I do, that came bundled with Terminator 2. Next week we’ll hear a new P track where he’s talking about the robots from the future trying to kill him for telling too many secrets, smh.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Oh how impressive. As usual says something that most people are aware of or have hinted at before and his stans act like he is some genius. Then he ties in the usual crack selling related reference for his stans. Jay never puts any content in his music unless it somehow relates to him moving weight back in the day.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:32 pm
This is why hip hop sucks ! wack beat and a mc with no skill or drive for the game,100 mixtapes that suck and a dj dick riding from ny to the south.
come on grow up
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:33 pm
just thought maybe we’d go one day without mentioning that nigga Shawn Carter’s name.
- – - –
Nigga you can’t go a day in New Zealand without hearing Hov’s name. Eskay will hunt your ass down in the old school Jeep pumpin’ Blue Magic and fuck up your whole day.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:33 pm
Look eskay ever rapper doesnt have to be lyrical or doesnt have to be witty, there is different sectors(sp) and types of niche rap. Whatever you want to call Prodigy’s i.e. Gangsta or Thug Rap, Dude was quite good at that for a long period of time and dropped classic and I do mean classic material. Its apples and oranges homie

damn look there goes a black girl lost.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:34 pm
I am not comparing P to Jay in terms of lyrical content. I am just saying you hov stans have put this guy on such a high pedestal that you can’t even form objective opinions on his music. The only thing worst than a good artist is one thats been overrated by his stans to unreachable limits. For example Elvis.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Blood Money > Reasonable Doubt

January 3rd, 2008 at 7:36 pm
But Hov is the best Coke rapper ever. Them Clipse niggas can’t do it like hov.
2nd best rapper when it comes to talking about paper, behind B.I.G. big namedropped for everything. If he had a candybar, it was a Godiva joint with truffles in that motherfucker.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:36 pm
As usual says something that most people are aware of or have hinted at before and his stans act like he is some genius.
^^Never said it was genius, but it is an example of content that’s not about money, cash, hoes which is exactly what you asked for. You’re never going to be satisfied so there’s no point in trying to make a proper argument. Jay should have signed with G-Unit and changed his name to Hollywood Hov, that would have been a much better display of content, right?
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:36 pm
btw is kay slay still smashing buffie?
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:38 pm
well, I see Eskay is defending Jay-Z like none other again, against hiphop classics like “Infamous” ….
smh…
another trend from ‘undercover haters’ on blogs:
“yo, ROTM sucked but the beats were nice”….
smh @ that hate….Well where would Jay-z be without good beats??
fuck outta here…
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:38 pm

Ghost and Rae >>>>>
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:41 pm
The hand wave Gay-Z did in the “show me what you got ” video ===== the most un-hiphop thing in history
what did Hov think…he was gonna start a trend with that wackness….smh….
fuckin lame…
tell Jay-Z to find the local ‘unemployment office’….
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:42 pm
Ghost and Rae to me are the greatest storttellers ever. Thier shit is funny as hell and cinematic. Like the joint where they rapped about the watch. Rae is a funny nigga on thier.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:43 pm
yo I’m at work and my mind ain’t workin’ thats pretty bad. I gotta stop with the drinks for real

Ghost and Rae to me are the greatest storttellers ever.
^^^ nah…that title goes to Nas…. (and that is only if you talkin about living rappers, cause BIG was that boy on that shit)
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:43 pm
State, don’t think I’m not a Jay Z fan because I analytically view and then criticize some of his not so impressive music. Hov is in my top 3. That is the problem with Hov stans, God forbid I say Hov did this or that, otherwise I hate him or I think he’s a bad artist. Hov stans put the dude on some pedestal, that he can only stand on if you look at his business accomplishments.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:45 pm
No doubt. . Ghost and Rae are great story tellers. Nas is pretty good too. Undying Love, I Gave You Power, One Love.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:45 pm
real talk if mobb deep wasn’t on g-unit, 2x would think they were garbage
somebody tell me i’m wrong
and phuque, if you think TOAPF is better than reasonable doubt, you are sonning yourself b (lol)
people talkin all sideways like someone got a legacy that’s better than jay’s
GTFOH
except lupe who is the next emperor of this rap shit, and kanye who is building a legacy of similar stature, jay stands alone
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:46 pm
I know what you’re saying Paper, I’ve certainly witnessed some flagrant Hov stannery at this website and others, and I agree that the man can still be criticized. I just don’t think some retarded garbage about Martian pyramids means that P is worth anything more than mockery.
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:47 pm

so, I was gonna come up in here and say this:
Kay Slay & Pap Smear = Frick & Frack
you don’t ever see one without the other; it’s like they’re BFF
& every pic I see of them 2, they look like some SALTY-ASS New York* Niggaz
*I was gonna say Up Top, but New York does not equate Up Top anymore
anyways
The Infamous > American Gangster ALL FUCKIN’ DAY
Mobb may have fell off, Jay IS a BETTER emcee/lyricist/entertainer AND has a significantly deeper and more relevant CATALOG of songs to rock an ARENA (and think about this: Mobb Deep could NEVER rock an arena or STADIUM like Hov has done REPEATEDLY)
BUT
judging just on the merits of each album by itself and nothing else
The Infamous is way iller…that whole NYC/Queens vibe was captured perfectly on that album…
look at it like this: play The Infamous now. Sounds just as good as it did 12-13 FUCKIN’ YEARS AGO.
That, my friends, is a classic album.
*gets on his 95 shit and bounces*
January 3rd, 2008 at 8:23 pm
Alright for Mr. Phuque….
You said JAY-Z Never EVER made a mistake… You will see jay-z is not the best and will find that PAC, BIG, NAS, BIG L are the greats… I still like jay-z though!!!!! d’evils is my shittt
Anyway I got proof JAY aint the best…
1. Ether
2. Big L & Jay-Z Freestyle part 1 & 2 (jay-z is looking real bad here :(

I’m so SICK of N.Y. cats thinking that they are the only “real lyricists”. Y’all wonder why no one fucks with y’all city when y’all reps make y’all look like the most hating sand in your pussy whiny niggaz alive. I know real N.Y. cats and y’all aint like that tell your D.J.’s and rappers to quit bitching.

Regardless of their lyrics which were decent I can do without the overdramatic lets mourn and rip our shirts open cause we stuck in the past feel of the whole damn thing. If I was still in high school and not in college I’d probably be more impressed with this song

Camden, NJ – For years, diss records have become the norm in the world of Rap music. The rare combination of great lyrical ability, the right adversary, and pinpoint timing can easily make or break an aspiring rap artists’ career. In this case, it appears that Big Lou has at least put a dent in the armor of the underground king Papoose who until Big Lou’s signing was by far the top lyricist in the history of the Streetsweepers label. Legendary; self professed Drama King and Streetweepers founder DJ Kay Slay appears to have been caught in the crossfire.
There appears to be no love lost between Big Lou and Papoose as reflected in the venomous, yet intelligent way in which Big Lou attacks Papoose in “The Destruction of Papoose”. The track is a straight from the heart, gut-wrenching attack that exposes Papoose’s failures as a commercial artist and Kay Slay’s role in his floundering career.
Big Lou does an effective job of subliminally stating that he was not willing to hang around for years letting his career get stagnant while Kay Slay continued to promote Papoose who’s career has all but fizzled under the Drama King’s tutelage. In an era where rap battles have dwindled and where the few that materialize are usually a mismatch perpetrated by the lure of record sales; it appears that this one is as real as it gets and could become a classic pending Papoose’s inevitable response. While many of us sit and wait in anticipation for the epic best pound for pound match-up between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather; the showdown between the kid from Camden, a city that’s only 8 square miles and the legendary NY DJ and his Brooklyn prodigy, could turn out to be the best under-card in quite some time.
