Now that I think about it, wasn’t Ice Cube like 18 when Straight Outta Compton dropped? ATCQ and LONS were younguns, too….
^^^
speaking of the devil.
yeah I think you right. Cube was writing lyrics for half the group ha.
Snoop was a younger cat, MF DOOM was young when he was in KMD…
Trugoy the Dove - “Trugoy” was Jolicoeur’s earliest nickname, dating back to 3 Feet High and Rising. The name is backwards for “yogurt”, a food that Jolicoeur is admittedly fond of. “Dove” is a nickname for “Dave”, and is symbolic of the peaceful nature of the group’s early songwriting.
**Was he that old? Because I remember reading somewhere that he was only like 17 when he got signed, which is why the group is EB&R, because he was too young to get signed as anything but a featured artist, and that he gave up even trying to play college football (QB) to take on music…I’m a bona fide Ra stan, shit, I named my son after that ninja…true story….
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Ra was born in ‘69 and “Eric B. Is President†dropped in the fall of ‘86. He was 17. another fun fact Shan and the juice crew was dissin’ him because of his laid back rhyme style. For the most part, Juice crew lost on that. LP “ghost†produced much of EB&R’s music.
Just succesfully macked another new breezy off myspace, she isn’t americas next top model, but she was drawn to the boy swagger just threw my pictures, & that’s good enough for me to do massive damage to her throat box.

@ DPS- remember that beef between Ra and EPMD? “People round town talking this and that/of how we sound like the R, and our music is wackâ€â€¦
^^^^^^^^^
Yeah. I remember that. I think it was more industry fueled. I remember the rumors of Ra being in jail and he dropped the freestyle:
“Why sell a bottle of crack, I don’t have to,
I write rhymes and I sign million dollars contracts to..”
(EB&R signed the first million dollar contract in Hip-Hop)
You didnt know trugoy was yogurt spelt backwards? and that dove comes from dave?
***Nope..>I was wondering where that name came from, all these years…I was just playing 3ft High and Rising the other day in the whip….wifey looked at me like I was bumping Paul Robeson (n/h) or some shit, lol….
@ Icon– I learned that from UBR off Street’s Disciple. I nearly lost my shit when Nas said “From Wyandanch to Brentwood“. Also, I’m gonna step all over your sneakers for tht MM3 diss. Then, when you give in to your negro anger over stepped-on shoes and try to shoot me, I’m totally gonna testify!
This song is good on a lot of levels, and the video compliments everything he’s saying. I’m glad he came out with a song focused more on hip hop than the bullshit that gets radio airplay.
Cube is still that nigga. People talk about his doing movies, but he will still eat half of these new niggas out here. He and LL are legends that can still spit sick shit.
Peep the clips of Bush and the war…And how in 2020 we have a gustapo type government…..Cube is in the know! Get ready for an interesting next 20 years.

also me and Rey give official co-sign to anything Phil Collins.
