^I thought I was the only one who thought they gave Peedi a solo deal because he was the SP poster boy. I would hate to see all of hiphop try to be political and uplifting. I think Dame Dash would be a better fit than Chuck D. The change for major labels has to be gradual and cant be on some radical overnight ish. But what do I know.

real talk I think Chuck D would be a great president for DJ. He could definety get them back in the black. He of course would make all the changes gradual, but the fact that he would be bold enough to implement them would be great for music as a whole. I don’t think he would be instrumental in who actually get signed though. That would be a mistake IMHO.

@digi scales… I couldn’t agree more that the industry is about sales. I don’t think the problem lies with the consumer though. People as a part of human nature usually gravitate to whats the most accessible. If you are being spoon fed a bunch of Souljah Boys and T-Pians then you are goint to buy a bunch of Souljah Boy’s and T-Pains.
What I’m saying is, that by downsizing these ridiculous budgets and spreading the money around and using cheaper outlets (the internet) you can level the playing field and gain more exposure for all your atrist and not just the most hot at the moment.
Noone would have to worry about being a priority if they all got the equal promotion/budget… Talent would be the only reason your shit didn’t pop off.
