^that’s where your wrong. if i diddybop it comes from an idea i had in my head about how to walk. if i rhyme slow and fluid, it comes from an idea of how i relate words to the music. swagger is the idea of yourself made flesh. everything starts out as an idea. how you manifest it is your swagger.

Second — I beg to differ. What MANY rappers lack in talent, they “make up” for w/ swagger. How can swagger be a manifestation of something they don’t initially possess?

^talent comes in many forms. i think you are confusing lyrical substance for overall talent. swagger is the ability to bring your ideas across in a creative manner. if your ideas are weak then your swagger probably has holes in it. ll was no rakim, but you cant say he wasnt talented just because his substance was lacking. his swagger manifested in his delivery. rakim’s swagger came through both lyrics and style.

Word…don’t get me wrong — I ain’t tryna just listen to some random cat who can write well, with absolutely no character or style (see: Canibus), all I’m saying is that “swagger” should be a component of talent. Not talent itself.
