I understand but I can’t co-sign. Beans spits FIRE and every so often he comes though on the Radio *(Shout out to Cosmic Kev, Pooch Man and ‘em) and BLAZES shit. I think he’s in a very public and postitive transition from KnuckleHead to Old Head and I don’t think his heart was in the new album. Beans gets a pass cause he never fronted on who he was or what he was.

swagger does equate to longevity. Jim Jones is a perfect example. i don’t think anybody checked that mixtape he dropped last month. swag for some is a fad.

Second — I beg to differ. What MANY rappers lack in talent, they “make up†for w/ swagger. How can swagger be a manifestation of something they don’t initially possess?
^talent comes in many forms. i think you are confusing lyrical substance for overall talent. swagger is the ability to bring your ideas across in a creative manner. if your ideas are weak then your swagger probably has holes in it. ll was no rakim, but you cant say he wasnt talented just because his substance was lacking. his swagger manifested in his delivery. rakim’s swagger came through both lyrics and style.

…which leads us back to swagger complimenting talent. Thats the way it works naturally. The problem is, people have created a “Backdoor” into the industry (Jim Jones), and the level of actual talent will suffer because of it. Pretty soon anyone with “swagger” will be able to put out a record, and commercial Hip-hop will go the way of Disco.

^that’s where your wrong. if i diddybop it comes from an idea i had in my head about how to walk. if i rhyme slow and fluid, it comes from an idea of how i relate words to the music. swagger is the idea of yourself made flesh. everything starts out as an idea. how you manifest it is your swagger.

y’all are WILD pessimistic. all they’re trying to do is keep the murders in philly BELOW 400 for the year. they ain’t trying to eliminate murder. this is a modest goal that CAN be achieved if ongoing beefs are mediated and alternative dispute resolution is taught on a wide scale…a lot of it involves peer mediating, which i’ve personally seen defuse escalating situations. if the peer pressure is for people to chill instead of wild out, less of the unnecessary random killings will occur…of course, there are beefs that will cook regardless, but the unnecessary popping someone b/c you want to date their girl beef? that can get deaded early.
