whats up Nah
Yo finally got to listen to MM3 without any interruptions, that shit is Jersey all day. Joe’s flow is authentic and unyielding to the point where i’m convinced Jay seriously and consciously tried to sabotage dukes career. Theres no rational that would explain him not releasing an album on DJ. None what so ever other than the Camels hatred and jeaolousy. The same animosity he has/had for Nas he shares with Budden. Only difference is he was able to steer Joe’s career to Hell, but with Nas he didnt have that type control. Now that Nas is on Def Jam some would think his plans are to do the same, when the truth is the opposite. He wants Nas to flourish so later on down the road he can say he played a pivital role in reestablishing Nas as an Artist. At the core of all this is control, Jays stubborn selfishness will be the reason the Hip Hop revolution kicks in high gear. This is prophecy all that is happening has to happen for the destruction then rebirth of the culture. No need to say what two would be at the helm of the revolution, I think its already known, … are you paying attention.
December 18th, 2007 at 10:25 am
@ Cold,
Budden was on DJ before J became pres… Also why did his only release go double mudd?? I think there’s blame to go all around. DefJam dropped the ball, Camel may have shitted on dude, and it’s possible that Joey’s heroin addiction may have affected his career.. But who ‘really’ knows?
December 18th, 2007 at 10:32 am

^ His album went Gold X, ok and you’re right J became press after, but how do you explain 3 Ghost face releases and not one Joe Budden.
December 18th, 2007 at 10:36 am
@ Cold,
How do you know for sure that Budden was even putting in the work to make an album? Everyone has assumptions but we don’t know for sure. There’s 3 sides to every story… I actually like Joey (||) and I think MM3 is incredible (||), but I still think he played a part in his own demise at DefJam.. But then that’s just my opinion also… I respect what you have to say though, there sounds like some validity in it..
December 18th, 2007 at 10:39 am
Everyone wants to blame Jay for Joe Budden failing at Def Jam, but coming from a kid who’s moms was a heavy drug addict (Co-op City Stand Up!) she did mad shit that was unpredictable (like having me) and was totally unreliable, even though deep down her pathetic ass is a good person. Those hard drugs can really fowl a person up though..
December 18th, 2007 at 10:40 am
There’s 3 sides to every story
^agreed.
December 18th, 2007 at 10:46 am
Yo X respect for your honesty. Half the industry is on some type of drug, its expected. Matter of fact Musicians and Drugs go hand in hand. It never stopped anyones elses career from poppin. If anything it aided in their creativity. Joe’s admitted to his prior drug use, its a right of passage for “Growth” we all go through hardships. Some may use drugs, some sell, others both. The point i’m trying to make is that we all have our vices its that help make up our character.

^ His album went Gold X, ok and you’re right J became press after, but how do you explain 3 Ghost face releases and not one Joe Budden.
^^^
migth have been him slacking, or just b.s. label issues like Jive did to Clipse, but it the ghostface releases can be explained by the fact that dude has proved himself to any and everyone, they know he is consistent, and the fact that ghost put in the time, work, and years into his rap career, and he doesnt really have to show and prove at the time as much as Budden, a somewhat on a mainstream and major label level, did to DJ.
I think Budden shoulda have had a “second” chance at releasing an official studio album, and then if I was DJ I would went from there to see if I wanna just put dude to the back burner, or release him, or what not. Either way I would released an album within maybe a year or so (year and a half at the most), like DMX 98-99 style. but who knows.

Smh….you people are giving Jay-z wayyyy too much credit. People are so quick to criticize this man, when they dont even know whats going on. Jay-z is only head of Defjam, the other artist have to through Universal also which has the final say so. A lot of people on here fail to realize business and money. A lot of you people will be fired after your first year of A&Ring, cause you dont understand dollars and cents.

^Crack. I can see why this is the only album/mixtape I paid for this year. Ransom went in on the “Family” joint. Arson too. And Stack’s verse was admirable on that tribute. MADDDDD quotables.
Life is like a beach chair when you can afford one
And it was the perfect setup for taking uninhibited jabs at the Camel. Cold finally came to the realization of what I was sayin’ wayyyyy back in my Broken Wings post. I also peeped how DJ OnPoint kinda blurred out the “Roc Boys” comment too.

^Are you serious? Wow. I woulda never guessed. And as much as that song sucked, that was the peak of the STL reign. I can’t lie… the drums on “Hood Hop” was fuckin’ ridiculous. Perfect for bumpin’ in the whip… word to Plug. Even better for other people to freestyle over it.
