I never knew you Yanks knew about man like Tenor Saw…Big up Billz…
^You forget that the East Coast is heavily populated and influenced by West Indians. From Northern VA to The Bean. Damn near all major cities between those two points have areas that have their own “little Jamaica.†I think my first introduction to Dancehall was Shabba’s “Ting-a-ling-a-lingâ€. Coulda been music prior to that, but that’s as far back as I can remember.

Man I used to be up on dance-hall/reggae, now I have no clue anymore….is there anything new and good?
^^^
Too much for me to even begin…can you understand patois? If not, theres no poin tof me even posting any new dancehall…it’d probably be too fast for you to understand. Dancehall has now been fused with UK Grime, so the pace is a bit nuts if you aint Jamaican…

…seriously that ninja needs to give tribe royalties for fathering his style, no matter if he wants to admit it or not….normally it’s the dad not wanting to claim the son..lupe can’t even give his fathers the respect they so clearly deserve…arrogant bastard for real….

….i clown lupe and hate him for his arrogance and snob like attitude towards tribe but dudes dumb nice him budden term and jay electronica are definitely the best doing it right now IMO, but i couldn’t begin to make a case for any of them as far as GOAT goes no matter how much I would love to……

^^^^TO be the greatest, lyrics is one MAJOR part. Im normally on your side with the flow thing, in fact thats been my problem with Talib Kweli over the year, its like he makes sure he says what he wants to say and sometimes forgets to flow.
BUt Lupe has a pretty effective flow. I think its good enough to compliment the outstanding lyrics.
“Paris, Tokyo†should’ve featured Q-Tip…lol…
^^^
no but really!
that shit sounds straight tribe to the death, but i aint one of those lame “i hate lupe because he didnt kiss the tribe’s ass but he just kept it real and said he really didnt listen to them when he grew up” types.
good music is good music.
period.

^^^thats why I said FUTURE GOAT……Personally I think Lupe is better lyrically than Budden, Jay Electronica…a tough call. But Lupe is miles ahead of both of them cats in influence…which is important for being the GOAT.
And Lupes music isnt very listenable IMO. But he is getting better…
——
Cosign. I cant lie. Dude can spit. But was irritates me about cats like lupe and Common is the beat selection. They act like they too good for a “hood nigga” beat or a Juicy J jump off. Thats the main reason I dont fock wit them cats. they beats dont appeal to me. Like I said Dumb it down was straight. he ripped on it, but when I finally got to listen to it in the car, there was hardly no bass. I might need to ajust my eq though. I might have the htz to low.
i really would like to listen to this in the car so if anybody got it send it to me. This sounds like it would blow my woofers \/

“Paris, Tokyo†should’ve featured Q-Tip…lol….
^And that’s my favorite song on the album. I was thinkin’ how it sounded so much like the New Jack Swing era, Natives Tongue type vibe.
I mean, Lupe, really fam.
^^^
I’m sayin’…I thought the EXACT same thing while listening. Now it’s one thing to say you didn’t really listen to Tribe (except for maybe the singles), but dammit that song sounds like it was recorded in ‘93. I mean I ain’t listen to Tribe like that, but even I can tell it sounds like them. He lost.
^wow, Plug… you? You the last ninja I woulda guessed as a Dancehall dude. Lol. Fa’real fa’real. And I used to think that was Lil’ Vicious. You on your shit.
I have to admit, “Paris, Tokyo” is too Tribish…..maybe this Tribe thing is Lupe’s gimmick. He secretly has Tribes catlog in his Ipod, but acts coy in public.

I beg to differ…they’re not all catchy, but songs like “Hurt Me Soul”, and even the “Paris, Tokyo” joint I just listened to are well written….to each his own, though….

Weeks after several highly publicized arrests in the case of a missing American teenager, Aruban prosecutors said today that they were closing their investigation into the unsolved 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
Prosecutors said there was not enough evidence to convict the three young men long suspected of involvement in her disappearance — Joran Van der Sloot and brothers Satish and Deepak Kalpoe.
Joseph Tacopina “The investigation did not bring about sufficient evidence to convince a court of law that a crime of violence against Natalee Holloway has been committed,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

LMAO. My cousin was over these white boys crib and saw a chess table. he made a comment about the table like “oh, you must be good at chess. You’ve got a table”. That eventually led to gambling.

Prosecutors said there was not enough evidence to convict the three young men long suspected of involvement in her disappearance — Joran Van der Sloot and brothers Satish and Deepak Kalpoe.
Joseph Tacopina “The investigation did not bring about sufficient evidence to convince a court of law that a crime of violence against Natalee Holloway has been committed,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

call me crazy but that j-kwon ‘hood hop’ was kinda hard.
^I posted that video earlier. The Trak Starz couldn’t have chose better drums. As a matter of fact, it was a big secret about where they got the drums from when that song drop. The song was probably the hardest track to come outta the STL movement.
^^^
yeah that and tipsy had a good beat…we had a few decent songs…mostly club songs but some good bass and drums on the tracks…Nelly had a few, Air force ones. had a dope beat.

I hate Nelly for makin’ Air Force Ones. We been rockin’ them shits on the East since the 80’s. Then that hee-haw made a song about it and the price skyrocketed.
December 18th, 2007 at 3:50 pm
those SOHH dudes are wack…
Geno da OG says…
Ghost, I appreciate your comments but they are not relevant to us southern white thugs. We don’t have no corners in Marietta, GA…we have lawns where we hustle. That way you can see the cops from a mile away and bury the shit before they get there. It’s a new kind of hustlin and our parents are friends with the mayor. Next time you in the A ask anyone about Matt Herbz and the white nigga movement he’s got going on down here. It’s dead serious. We on some Wu shit though, much respect!

^co-sign and now everbody calls them Air Force Ones now so it’s confusing here…we used to (I still do) call them DC’s around here.
December 18th, 2007 at 3:56 pm
by the time nelly made the song any sense of exclusivity on air forces was looong gone. i’m still a burgundy suede puma nigga myself. shell toes was strictly for my taggin up characters.

‘Preciate the comments, Geno…you my nigga. Ghost, for real, son, every time you in Atlanta, we hold you down. Some niggaz be talking about how you ain’t roll with a bunch of bodyguards and shit and how they wanted to jack you for your fitted and your wave cap. A couple of my little white street niggaz told me about the plan and I snuffed em out, son. Lil’ niggaz need to respect the real no matter if the nigga is from NY or Marietta or Veracruz, MX. Fake niggaz like Rick Ross, Plies, T-Pain, T.I., D4L, DFB, and and the Yung Bergs, Young Jock’s and any other Young or Lil’ ain’t get no play in this ride. I got filters on the bandwidth that eliminate the bullshit. Wu-Tang shit always plays nice and loud, though. Next time you down here, I’m a hop on stage and help you put it down for my white niggaz out there. Who run it?!
