Beans is referring to the slow sales and promotion from Rocafella in the hot97 interview. I understand his concern but he gotta realize the state of music in which we are in right now. If JayZ, Kanye, and 50 need millions of promotional dollars just to get past the “Gold†mark on their 1st week sales, imagine how much more money it will take for less popular rappers like Beans to do the same numbers?. The major label music business is fucked up and its only getting worse. So all the major label artists need to realize this, stop complaining and go out there and grind like the indi rappers. There is nothing handed out to you anymore. Either you make ring tone music or u make good creative music and go on your own tour with it to get your true fans back.
These major label artists need to take notes from the indie artists. They are spoiled.

It’s not like there are rap fans out there that don’t know Free and Beans have albums out.
Someone would have to be without cable, rap radio, the internet, and magazines and newspapers to sincerely not know they were comin’ out. How many hip-hop hermits do you know?
Here are the 2 dirty truths that nobody wants to say, so they toss around shit like Jay needs to go or whatever:
1- People know the album’s out, they just steal the music cuz they can get it for free. Period. This is the number one reason rap is on the decline and anyone saying otherwise is fooling themselves.
2- Rap as the dominant form of music in this country has stopped COLD. (no nr reg). Too much beef, too much repetition in the beats, too much repetition in content. Rap has been drugs, guns, and girls for the last 15 years. FIFTEEN. FUCKING. YEARS.
Soooo don’t start talking about Hova this and Hova that. Rap isn’t selling because people are sick of it, and those that aren’t–the majority of them just steal the music.

The rest? Well, Serius hasn’t impressed me lately like he did with King Me. Ruste is hardcore so he won’t get mainstream appeal but the underground will eat it up. anyone see the gangland shit on the History channel. Latin Kings and its orgins… Some good shit. All these gangs (organizations) had honest motives in the beginings. But like with everything else that has power, it soons becomes intoxicating. For example my Swag is so powerful at times people get the wrong impression might cringe in fear. ^I was talkin’ to the homie Shawn Lee (Duepayers) who used to work for Violater. If a dude like Lux had GUnit backin’ him, he’d be an instant star. His writing skills are bananas, and he can do hooks just as good as 50 if not better. Plus he know how to make commercially appealing songs (though he’s a lyricist): “No Model”, “Work On the Block”, “Harlem’s My Birthplace”

^Billz I havnt seen nobody else here give the kid the cosign. Plus after some time of an artist being on the underground, the transition to commercially appealing becomes more obscure. He’s already bodied himself as an underground artist, thats as far as it goes for him. There is a window of time that a rapper should go from underground battle mc to being signed to a major. After some time people are just not interested anymore. Its always a next new nigga on the come up. One more thing the way the game is so saturated as it is, consumers, fans have very short attention spans. So if can do what fifty did; blaze the underground;get the attention and cosign of a Major dude like a Jay or Dre, or even fifty himself, then its a wrap.
