Anyway, Huzzahs for Kanye. The man stays making great music. I’m glad he was nominated for Album of the Year, but how the FUCK can “Stronger” not be nominated for Record of the Year or Song of the Year???

DJ Toomp (born Aldrin Davis in 1969) is an American record producer and DJ who is based in Atlanta, Georgia. He is known for producing T.I.’s chart-topping hit, “What You Know.” More recently, he contributed to production on Kanye West’s Graduation, including producing the singles “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and “Good Life” with West. He and hip hop veteran Bernard Parks, Jr. have launched their own record label called NZone Entertainment.

The Grammys are trying so hard to attract a younger audience now that if they didn’t nominate him, T-Pain, or (maybe) Rihanna, they probably thought no one would watch. since about 2004, it has been scientifically impossible for P to outrap Sean P.

^^ Damn dont we care how an album plays overall. Sheesh I can roll in my ride with ROTM at full blast and feel that ish in my bones. Now I love Sean Price but I rather listen to him in my house and just spazz out to it there

    ====
word. I said the same thing. ROTM could be instrumental album of the year.

  131. I Fux Says:

Eskay I tend to like the way High On Drugs bumps or Im Stuck To You ……on HNIC Keep It Thorough or Do IT, YBE ……see those songs bang a little differently then lets say a Sean Price song so its just what you feel the most Gangsta shit that thumps or Lyrical shit that thumps ……I go either way with both, I flip like reciprocal fractions depending on mood

for the first two months that ROTM was out, I was bumping it constantly(no homo) those Alchemist beats were probably the best beats made all year; but after a while P’s rhymes got tired. I gotta find a ROTM instrumental

its not that serious.. Its basically a great mixtape with “samples” that alchemist barely even flipped. The beats are dope dont get me wrong but most of them sound just like the original. Superstar is an ALBUM, its COHESIVE.

Whether any of us like it or not…SOULJA BOY IS A GLOBAL PHENOMENON. For the 90’s baby generation, that song is the biggest thing theyve ever seen (Even Samuel Jackson was doin the shit)….That dance is probably more popular than the Moonwalk to them…For the Grammys to overlook something as big as that wouldnt be right. They used to say that same shit about Hip-Hop : Its a fad, its for the kids, take that to some other awards…

The Grammys is for Cultural / Generation Phenomenons. Which Soulja boy is. He’s the new-age superstar (no video, didnt need radio, just myspace hits, youtube clips, dance steps and song remakes).

The Grammy’s is for EVERYAGE. Thats the reason Disney Films can get nominated next to The Godfather….If the Grammy’s ignored the future (read:the kids), the Grammys wouldnt have a future…ALOT of people under 17 think Soulja boy’s the best thing since toe-nail clippers - why should they be ignored?

Man Eskay you should have included the category of Rap Duo preformance. That actually looks good this year:

    Category 32

Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group
(For duo, group or collaborative performances of Rap only. Singles or Tracks only.)

    Southside
    Common Featuring Kanye West
    Track from: Finding Forever
    [Geffen]

    Make It Rain
    Fat Joe Featuring Lil Wayne
Track from: Me, Myself & I
    [Terror Squad Entertainment]

    Party Like A Rockstar
    Shop Boyz
    Track from: Rockstar Mentality
    [OnDeck/Universal Republic Records]

Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You)
    UGK Featuring OutKast
    [Jive]

    Better Than I’ve Ever Been
    Kanye West, Nas & KRS-One
    [Nike]

That would be so dope if that Nike track or Outkast/UGK won. But one can dream…
