i’m a corporate lawyer (i know i’ve probably mentioned this once or twice before)
obviously i’m not making a million a year but i do well
i can assure you that most A&R’s except maybe the very top in the game make less than me
the salaries of attorneys in large firms in chicago, NY, and LA are published — if you took my age (which i’ve mentioned before) and add to that when i went to law school (which i’ve mentioned before) you could pretty much peg my salary and bonus
anyway i’m not bragging — shit, i might be making as much as i do next year and i might not, so i count my blessings daily — but i’m just making a point because a lot of kids really are dying to be an A&R and i could give two shits about being one, shit is not even that tight of a job
p.s. plus no matter how much you make when you have a baby you’re broke — shit is just that expensive (ha!)

I have a Panasonic Lumix digital camera right now. Nothing too fancy. It’s more of just a hobby right now. I notice you are also from Chicago. I’m about two hours south of you, but like I said I will be moving to Hawaii soon and plan on spending most of my time on the beach taking photos.

But that’s how I started, as a hobby. Using a Kodak v550 pocket cam, then I bought a Kodak z712IS…. now I’m doing this shit for money.
I must say it’s addictive as hell. I must’ve spent $3k on camera gear.
