God damn, I really wish more rappers would perform with a live band. I haven’t seen the roots yet and this Ali clip is great but the best performance I’ve seen in a while was with Pharoahe Monch.

November 27th, 2007 at 1:37 am
well, i have it. it like a mash up of nas and madlib tracks. the file i have is one big 34+ minute file. i plan to chop it up on pro-tools tomorrow when i get up. i was asking cats earlier that if they had a rapidshare account, i could send the individual tracks to them and they could send it to nation since he has everyone’s email addresses and send it out
November 27th, 2007 at 1:39 am

but for instance in the hood people stay bumpin “the infamous” by mobb deep (even though they wack as fuck now)
i mean nas has been a great lyricist at times but i don’t think he’s relevant any more

Big ups on getting Ali on here. Best around right now.
I was just listening to the best mixtape I’ve heard in a LONG minute: Brother Ali & BK One - Off The Record
If you guys can find this anywhere I guarantee this to be a work of genius.

^^^^^ Well i guess it’s just preference really… I stay bumping that album, sometimes more than illmatic…. It was Written was that real hiphop shit…
Take a song like, “the Message”…I still bump that all the time… thats’ a classic song… what he did on that song is remarkable, just look at the chorus…
Nas was tellin stories like none other then…
As far as relevance, yeah he lost alot in that category…but that’s beside the point…
I’m just sayin Nas is standstill a better rapper than pretty much anybody in the game, other than Hov…
And that It Was Written is a classic album….And that’s with out just throwing that ‘classic’ word around…

that’s not wise. just chop it up, throw all the zipped tracks into a .zip or a .rar and just upload it back to zshare, or sharebee. and there is a faster way to upload individual tracks (drag and dropped) like i do for my other posts… more on that later

^^co-sign. ‘it was written’ drags a little bit in parts, but there are some moments of pure genius, like ‘take it in blood’: “i never brag / how real i keep it / ’cause it’s the best secret / i rock a vest / prestigious” and “my actions are one with the seasons” you can hear the ghost/rae influence, though

I mean seriously, Nas sampled himself on “the Message” chorus… and made it sound tight…give him the credit…
Young Jeezy & Lil Wayne should study that song, over and over and over…
they couldn’t write a story like that if someone ghostwrote for them…
