The following is based on a true story:

So I pulled into the Best Buy parking lot @ 5:45 this morning bumpin’ Obie (so these niggas knew I was serious), and a nigga was on his third cup of coffee so I was wiggin’, ready to smash the first consumer tryna pop off @ the jaw. I step inside the building with a swagger so heavy every bitch in the CD section turned their heads in unison and whispered the word “impeccable”.

A few b-boy stances later, I rolls up on this sales lady, flash my nuts on her and she takes me directly to the V.I.P. laptop section, and hands me a bucket w/ a bottle of Sobe on ice. Each salesperson brings a laptop over to the leather couch where I’m seated, and every one a them bitches are wack. Finally, this blackanese model bitch hoe walks over in slow motion (c) Hype Williams, and hands me the “one”. It’s a beast - V12 engine, 471832904 horsepower, and some other shit that I’ll probably never use.

I pay, get escorted out of the store by said bitch, and we rode off into the sunrise as she handled the D.

And I don’t mean debit.

Okay, so I guess I’m more eager to listen to Sai over Just Blaze beats. No big surprise there. Their energy matches well.

I don’t like this remix. I mean, it’s a classy nod getting Rae on the remix, and using the CREAM beat works seeing as how the original hook interpolates the Wu classic.. but this isn’t working for me.

I might’ve been better with it, but I’m pretty sick pf people taking beats from the early to mid 90s and putting new shit over them. Murder Inc drove that into the ground. Plus, Swizzy had Jadakiss spit over the CREAM beat (none) at the end of the “It’s Me..” remix.

^i was saying this earlier about hiphop overall. the drum comes first.

- HHID has plenty of good spittin’ over good production. Once again, it goes under the radar. In no way shape of form am I saying that HHID is perfect or great for that matter, but think about it…. heads were hating on “I AM” because they wanted to compare it to Illmatic which was more boom bap, less commercial, whatever. but look at the absolute GEMS on “i am”.. nas is like, nystate of mind 2, small world, undying love, favor for a favor… and the beats were dope too.

Don’t get me wrong… Nas does pick wack beats.. but I rocks with alot of joints on HHID. M.O.B., Republicans, Hold Down the Block, Still Dreaming, Let There Be Light, carry on tradition.

I do hope he does pick better overall beats.. but i don’t want him to force it on what’s a “banging beat”.. cause as a creator it’s more about the way you blend with the instrumental and how it moves you to write rather than how the beat sounds standalone.

Man, did you hear the new one, “soljah girl?” I almost threw up. I was at the club last night, and told my girl that I’m seriously thinking about giving up on rap. Its getting downright out of control, they lettin any and everybody get signed.

On top of that, the subject matter of most rap is getting more and more disgusting. Maybe I’m gettin old…
