Sorry, had to come back.. Why is it that so far the best song (aside from C’mon Baby) is the motherfucking Memph Bleek joint?
This beat is ridiculous. I’m pretty sure this is a “Flock of Seagulls†sample.
Okay, so I guess I’m more eager to listen to Sai over Just Blaze beats. No big surprise there. Their energy matches well.
Okay, back to lurk mizzode.

Rigz which instrumental??
November 23rd, 2007 at 12:41 pm
The following is based on a true story:
So I pulled into the Best Buy parking lot @ 5:45 this morning bumpin’ Obie (so these niggas knew I was serious), and a nigga was on his third cup of coffee so I was wiggin’, ready to smash the first consumer tryna pop off @ the jaw. I step inside the building with a swagger so heavy every bitch in the CD section turned their heads in unison and whispered the word “impeccableâ€.
A few b-boy stances later, I rolls up on this sales lady, flash my nuts on her and she takes me directly to the V.I.P. laptop section, and hands me a bucket w/ a bottle of Sobe on ice. Each salesperson brings a laptop over to the leather couch where I’m seated, and every one a them bitches are wack. Finally, this blackanese model bitch hoe walks over in slow motion (c) Hype Williams, and hands me the “oneâ€. It’s a beast – V12 engine, 471832904 horsepower, and some other shit that I’ll probably never use.
I pay, get escorted out of the store by said bitch, and we rode off into the sunrise as she handled the D.
And I don’t mean debit.

November 23rd, 2007 at 1:21 pm
@ Phuque
My 2 hours of empty handedness didn’t turn out quite like that…
For starters, I’m not into this Xmas (aka Winter Solstice) brouhaha like everybody else. I wasn’t about to buy no gifts. A ninja just wanted a laptop and then go home…
Ok, so after being over a shorty’s crib eatin’ her half-ass food and listen to her senile grandmama in the other room, I dip to go home. It was about 2:30 when I arrived to my door. Took a lil’ two-hour nap and decided that I was gonna try to get me a frickin’ laptop and then go home. So when I pull up to Worst Bargain (use your imagination) in White Marsh, the line is already wrapped around the buildin’, just like the one I passed downtown. I thought it was gonna be on some O.G. status type shit where I could just bumrush the door and KTFO the first cracka (or anybody else) who felt froggy on BLACK Friday (I think you get my drift). So I’m thinkin’, fuck that, I’m just gonna stand on the ledge of my driver’s side entrance and scope the joint from the other end of the parkin’ lot and THEN make my move once the herd of people start movin’ in (c) the jaguar who sits in a tree and is the observer of the jungle (one of my favorite animals). As the herd starts movin’, I tap into my inner “ninja” (figuratively and literally… ask about me) and begin to run at top speed towards the entrance, weavin’ through parked cars like a mad-man. I see Holiday Jake standin’ by the front door, and people who aren’t in line just standin’ there watchin’. So I’m like, “fuck that”, and zip up my camo hoodie, put the hood on over the fitted, and find a way to invade the herd as it passes. We finally get in there and of course I go straight to the computer section. I ask the Worst Bargain employee where the $229 Toshiba joints are. He said, “do you have your ticket?” I’m like, “huh?” Apparently, people who were already in line received a ticket (a photocopied sheet of paper in a folder with the description of the item printed on it) a while ago while they were hibernating on the ground. So of course, I don’t let that stop me and go straight into ninja mode. I head towards the seats by the Pick-Up Window and begin to plot a way to snatch a laptop in the midst of all the insanity. I sit there for about 8 to 10 minutes and came to a realization that none of my schemes are gonna work this go ’round. So I said, “fuck it” and left… and became disappointed several times more on my mission: Wal(let)-mart only had desktops… Office D’Bo; made it in time but the “bargain” was too high… O.K.-Mart was on some “laptops? da fuck is that?” type vibe… another Worst Bargain let-down [it was at the 2nd one where I found out mofos have been lined up outside since 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving evening]… and then the last stop was at the rival a block over from the 2nd Worst Bargain, Circus City. The line outside looked like they were tryin’ to get into Six Flags when it just opened. I said sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit… I aint gettin’ out my car for dat. I turned back around and drove my Black ass home. All I could think was, “damn, they have made BLACK Friday completly ninja proof this year”, and perhaps years prior because I’ve never indulged in this pagan ritual before.
To the hee-haws that camped out… yall are some truly dedicated and partially retarded ass people. I know the Illuminati probably got special access to all news cameras (yeah, those fuckers were there too) nationwide and was having a good time watchin’ this shit go down. Bastids.
Oh well, back to the drawin’ board…

lmao at Billz and the Jaguar is also one of my favorite animals too, Actually I took my Daughter to the San Diego Zoo yesterday morning. I figured my home was gonna be hectic and why not take my daughter out and get out of everyones hair for a few hours and it was the best decision I made yesterday. Word I went to Marie Callendars yesterday at 7am to pick a ham and some pies and the fucking line was barely getting ridiculous and this is just to pick up pre-ordered meals. *smh* at the Holiday season

Black Friday has been over rated for the past few years. There are really no great deals for all that. It is just hyped up because it is considered the biggest shopping day of the year. Alot of joints get stocked up…people rush to get them…I work retail part time and most of the places restock so there is no diffrence getting them later on during the work week and today. The real bargains are after the holidays and even then there is chaos, but today..shit aint worth it and campin out and shit?? Fuck that

^ I am sure some places are like that, but Ive noticed since last year alot of places to avoid that do tickets, or only let the people who been in line go in first. I remember when I went to get that ipod last year. I rolled up at 4am…early as fuck. I knew they was a line so cool..I waited and waited til the line got shorter. I got in line and after they let a certain amount of people in, they closed the doors and said they not letting nobody in for a a half hour. So they basically said the first 100 people in line get to shop in the store for the first 30 minutes while the rest waits. By that time shit was gone, So I said fuck security and ran to my car and dipped and got in the bed. First time I ever did that early shit and the last. Aint worth it.

Me and Shawn Lee (DP) were talkin’ about that, and he said he fucks wit’ the Billionaires joint. However, I never liked it from jump. I don’t think it’s a bad song, just not my taste. I wish Free woulda had the RocBoys beat for his album instead of Billionaires. Sounds better, imo. Lukey (whoever the fuck that is) (c) Camel, did his thing.

^And word to the Most High, I haven’t even cracked the book on Art of War. It’s just how I live life. Dawg, I’ve been in so many circles because I’ve learned the Art of Deception at a young. Being an only child from a small family in the middle of one of the most dangerous cities, I had to learn to conceal knowledge. Like my shidoshi said, “learn to protect your knowledge because you can die for it (i.e. people will kill you for it)”. I’ve used it on corporate, street, companion, and friendship levels. And not once did I have to sacrifice integrity to do it. I just allowed them to see only 1 or 2 sides of me before infiltrating their minds. I’m a good judge of character and can pick up on a person’s flaws with just brief interactions. It’s a beautiful thing. Dangerous in the wrong hands though (read: if I ever wanted to be spiteful).

ready to die might have had a little commercial edge but thats part of what made it a classic. it marked the beginning of the mafioso/playa/jiggy era. an album needs to spark a new movement or trend or at least be the most representative of a certain style in order to be considered classic. which is why IMO cap punishment > ready to die, but while RTD is a classic, CP isn’t.
November 23rd, 2007 at 3:35 pm
Life after death was definitely not a classic. I fail to see/hear the classic in that album
^^
Biggie was the first (& one of the ONLY) artists to perfect the universal hip-hop album.
-He had a double-time track (no-one on the East was doin that)
-He had a manual for the hustlers
-Had straight Boom-Bap shit
-Had a West Coast track
-Had the first Madd Rapper Skit
-Had a Wu track
-Had PERFECT stories
-Had a slow jam for the girlies
-Had joints for the smokers (You’re Nobody Before Somebody Kills You is DEEP)
-He had a track with him singing
-Had alot of other shit, but the list is getting long…
The point is – throughout all of this, BIGGIE NEVER SOUNDED LIKE HE WAS REACHING. He’s probably the most versitile rapper EVER. The album was carried thru with humour & top notch production. How can it not be classic?

True, Biggie introduced a new era…but as time tells 10-15 years down the road is only when we can really judge an album. Like with American Gangster, I cant call it yet, but when I listen to it as a whole it sounds much better than when I just pick and choose a song.

Yeeeaaah Baby vs. Life After Death:
Life After Death kills it. I was a big yeaaaahh baby fan, but when you’re talking about Kick in the Door, Last Day, I Love the Dough, Mo Money Mo Problems, Notorious Thugs, SKy’s The limit, Crack Commandments, Going Back 2 Cali, Ninjas Bleed…. if LAD was a single CD it would CRUSH YB. Even as a double CD.. i think it’s got more potency.
Capital Punishment vs. Ready 2 Die:
The jury is still out on that one….
Pun vs Big:
Closer battle than die hard biggie fans would like to admit. I would say tho, Pun’s 1st singles (Still Not a Player and It’s So Hard) weren’t as big as Big’s (Juicy and Mo Money Mo Problems).
No doubt pun was dope.. very versatile and talented. As a spitter he easily trumps big… lyrics… ehhh, big has some punches but i’d slightly give it to pun… but swag, creativity, and wittyness might have to give it to Big.
Both are in my top 10.

Life After Death = Classic just cuz I can listen to that Blicka’ over and over ….my classic or near classic rating is quite simple it goes like this
if I grab the cd can I listen to it in its entirety and does it move me in any kind of emotional way and do I just thoroughly enjoy it. If I can answer yes to all those I consider it classic or near classic. the difference between near and bonafide is when I get into the technicality of the lyrics or beats. If it is lacking in one of those two departments I knock it to Near Classic.

My point is, in ’97:
Wu made Wu music
Gangstarr made Gangstarr music
Jay made Roc music
The Queens regiment (CNN, NaS, Mobb, etc) made Queens music
Death Row made West Coast music
Too Short made pimp music
Bone thugs made Thug harmony music
R&B was R&B
Biggie put all of these things on ONE ALBUM while staying in he’s own skin. Never overdid it.
Fast FWD to ’07: Every rapper TRIES to do that but doesnt have the charisma, humour or skill to pull it off. LAD was classic.

When I look for an album I dont want it to be all over the place. Thats where Most rappers mess up at. Look at all the true classic albums. They were all hot because they all had a cohesive theme to it.
Reasonable doubt- cohesive theme
illmatic- cohesive theme
moment of truth- cohesive theme
HNIC- cohesive theme
Capital punishment- cohesive them
Hell hath no fury- Cohesive theme
Food and liquor -cohesive theme
Graduation- cohesive theme
*not saying these are all classics but You see the point, good albums are not all over the place.

i think the album is close to classic. if he woulda made it a single CD.. of about 14-16 joints, it woulda been easily classic. There are some records that could be left off, but overall.. it’s still a dope album. I think Boosie just has something against big…

Yeah both are great. But IMO LAD has much more replay value (I’ve been playin it for 10 yrs).
So.
LAD > Blueprint.

… first i would have done thorough interrogation, to assure the broads wasnt po-po … then after that is reasonably established, i would sternly warn them that further use of “nigger” would cause me to explode into a “nigger” type rage, which may not be in their best interest … then after establishing that, if i have the burner with me, and they are slipping, i rob the she-devils for their product, and available valuables and loot …

Respect due To biggie and PAC, but in my heart neither of them is as nice as hov rhymes, lyrically, number of hits, etc.
I never really looked at biggie as being in same category as hov overall.
Biggie died before he could have the longevity (uh-uh) he needed 2 b a world wide star. Hov flow is nicer over all.
Bigg never lived long enough to be as big (don’t even think about it) in the rest of the world like he was in NY.
