^Nah, I couldnt do it..Mass appeals an ill beat. With a rapper over it. If i was just LISTENING, it would get boring after a min..I’d just end up reciting Guru’s verse. But like..On Donuts - the beats ARE the songs. Thats my point. Premo makes ill beats for emcees - Dilla is a WAY iller musician. Which is why so many musicians that dont listen to hip-hop fuck with Dilla.

&about versitility? I couldnt imagine Premo Working with Tribe,Pharcyde,Erykah,Common,Bilal,Stones Throw,Busta,The Roots,De La,Janet,Royce,FourTet & Jackie O (yep Jackie O) while still sounding like premo. And Im a Premier fan…

two things:

1. everybody talkin about the clash of the titans (land vs eskay) but the story is how chea AI’d eskay somethin disgusting. land started buckin after eskay was already on his heels.

Dilla’s in my Top 5 with the other four I mentioned. I’m not really that interested in Timbo’s or Dre’s beats. Of the current crop… Just Blaze might have a shot at breaking into the Top 5 in the future. Black Milk is fierce, but his style at the moment is too derivative (from Dilla’s) to be a great in his own right. I was a BIG Extra-P fan back in the day also.

As far as Kanye goes, the jury’s out for me.
