    ^ Jays problem is he grew up TOO LATE. Recognise: on Vol.2 Jay was 30..He wasnt sayin it was the new 20 back then..He was actin 20! By time he started growin up (Blueprint / Excuse Me Miss Era), nobody wanted him to..they want the OLD Jay (no pun)..Really if he was acting his AGE, he wouldve released an album like AG in ‘99..And AG isnt that bad of an album-I actually like it.     if i had to pick… i’d pick neither. i’m not saying they’re wack. i do enjoy their work on a whole.but i’m keeping it strictly on the context of what i’m talking about. think of it this way. if every mc/rapper came out with only accapella cds, who’s would you buy/download? the only reason i’m getting sai’s album (oops. showing my age) is for Justin’s beats. and i’m not touching papoose (nope). he dried himself out lyrically and conceptually with all the mix cd stuff (i mean, damn. hip hop police 2? already?!?!? wait, i take that back. it’s a shame we’ve had enough rappers that got locked up in the short amount of time for him to make another hip hop police 2. smh).

    try this. go through all of your mix cds, pull out all of papoose (nah) freestyles and completed songs they have on them, put them on a cd, and compare it to his official release. i WISH someone to prove me wrong…

    SB21… I didn’t get it twisted at all. I said pretty clearly that as emcee’s, I think it’s close. I don’t think one is much better than the other on the mic device. I don’t really think either is the next King of NY or whatever, but based on skill, I think Saigon edges it. Only just though.

    But, when you look at what each artist is bringing to the table, the fact that Sai has got beats by Just Blaze has him as the most interesting artist by a looooong way. Like you, I’ll be copping the Sai CD. I have no interest in buying Pap’s album whatsoever. There’s too many average cats getting hyped the fuck up by people in positions of power who have something to lose by that artist failing.

    damn, i forgot the main reason why i was going to post something here (got sidetracked with that sai/’poose bullshit. this is something i was JUST talking to a friend the other day about this…

    bad things happen to people all the time, and in the case of most of these entertainers, they voluntarily/involuntarily put themselves in those situations (oh well to them). but you know how it’s like… ok. there are certain entertainers who are genuinely cool people. they don’t get into/have enough sense to stay the hell away from any serious nonsense or do anything crazy or unnecessary to get themselves placed in front of a judge every 2 weeks (shout out to dmx). JUST when they’re having a really good run, having all kinds of success in their field and it seems like nothing at that point could stop them, the one and only bad thing that could happen to them is someone close to them passing away (jordan, cosby, dr. dre, eminem, busta rhymes, uh… it’s early. i can’t think of more, but i’m sure you can if you get what i’m saying)…

    i read someone here quote kanye where he said something about what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. but you KNOW the relationship he has with his mother. i’m not saying he’s going to pull a gun out on himself, or at the very least, pull a cam or anything (and even if he does, at least you know why he’s MIA. and not suspect him of hiding in MIA). i do think this will have an interesting affect on his future work (although i don’t see the rest of his albums filled with songs like the roses) and possibly how he’ll be as a person [i hope not in a negative way. shout out to (fill in blank with any star who acted a damn fool after someone they loved died)]. my condolences to him and to anyone who’s lost a loved one. enjoy life and the ones around you who makes that much sweeter. you never know what the day will bring…

    ***When my father passed, it was the most difficult time in my life…Henne played a big part in my coping mechanism, lol, but I was real reckless and self destructive for a good 2 yrs following his passing- still feels like a part of me is missing…with that said, I am blessed to have my moms with me….we’ve always enjoyed a good relationship, and i couldn’t imagine what ‘Ye is going though…I know he’s glad he was able to give her flowers while she was still alive, though….

    Another Fun Fact: I just found last night while watching Nick at Nite (fuck yall) that the Fresh Prince of Bel Air has an extended version of the opening them music which includes about 10 seconds of extra beat before he raps, his moms throwin’ his under-clothes to him so that he can leave (with extra bars), a scene where he’s on an airplane (with extra bars… plus it makes sense that he took a plane first THEN a taxi), and the front gate of the mansion where it actually shows him pullin’ up to the door.     Icon: Yea the Alicia Keys show was packed. Of course she looked good and the performance was great. I was sober so I remember. The next night the place was packed for Hov. Could barely move and dudes was pushing girls to get into vip. I was already there and on stage since that is my normal spot and my bar is there. 12 or 1 Jay and them showed up and performed on stage while people were still up there. Dude looks like he is 50 in person. Beans is fatter..Chris had some ill jewelry on. I spoke to JD for a lil bit. Music was cut off a few times and the lights had to come on because of fights in the crowd. Jay was getting mad..lol
