Damn Nas has been in the game for a long long long time and has not only survived the times but laid his own path that very few has walked on. After listening to that song I mean realy listening to the song it made me realize that artist that came out around the time as Nas such as Biggie, Wu-Tang, Jay-Z etc all made it on their pure talent, hunger and desire to be DIFFERENT from every other rapper that was out. Just hope alot of up and coming rappers realy do their history on the success of some the rappers from that era and realize its all about talent and not about your criminal background.

That cassidy BARS joint is fire. Surprisingly very good. I actually listened to that shit without having to skip anything. It’s not the normal just talking about murking niggas Cass, the subject matter matter varies alot. Of course there are a few tracks with him talking greesy, but he limited those type of tracks to like 3. The album starts out with something of that matter but then after like the 3rd track it completely changes course. Beat selection is very good too. Couple bangers, but alot of introspective shit.
Oh yeah and Cass hardly spit any punchline songs on the cd, theres only like 1 track that has that old punchline only cass flow. This shit is completely different compared to his prior cd’s.

That cassidy BARS joint is fire. Surprisingly very good. I actually listened to that shit without having to skip anything. It’s not the normal just talking about murking niggas Cass, the subject matter matter varies alot. Of course there are a few tracks with him talking greesy, but he limited those type of tracks to like 3. The album starts out with something of that matter but then after like the 3rd track it completely changes course. Beat selection is very good too. Couple bangers, but alot of introspective shit.
Oh yeah and Cass hardly spit any punchline songs on the cd, theres only like 1 track that has that old punchline only cass flow. This shit is completely different compared to his prior cd’s.

^Honestly, the first half of I’m A Hustla is better than BARS altogether, but the rest of it is basura. Therefore, I think BARS is a better effort, but he needs to be more free with his pen. What I mean, he only likes to get lyrical on the hardcore songs, which makes sense. But if he put for just as much effort on the introspective ones (and some better production), he’d be unstoppable.
