WHat are you talking on about? Well Nas’s album hasn’t come out yet, and since his prior album HHID was better than KC I wouldn’t call it a longshot to say Nigger might rejuvenite the lyricism Nas is known for and be on par with this album.
And as for this album, I hope your not trying to say its superior to everything in Nas’s catalog, I mean this album isn’t on Stillmatics level, let alone anything close to Illmatic. Like I said I’d rank this album right under BP 1 in terms of Jay albums.

I don’t know how anyone could even begin to make a case for Jay over Nas, when Reasonable Doubt, as good as it is, gets shit on by Illmatic, when It Was Written shits on Volume 1, when Volume 2, as popular as it was, is garbage from start to finish w/the exception of Hard Knock Life and Reservoir Dogs - oh, and the Bleek intro, when the only thing that Blueprint has on Stillmatic is its beats, lyrically it can’t hold a handle to Stillmatic…… what could the case for Jay possibly be? also i agree bp2 had alot of iller but thats cause it was a double album, anyone who was smart downloaded all the good songs to one cd and had a great fucking album, life after death and all eyes on me had a lot of filler too but they are both still classic…can’t say the same for street disciple i’m afraid..

stillmatic was hyped to know ends because it had ether on it and everyone was like the nigga nas is back it’s a celebration, it’s no doubt a good album but people base it off the strength of ether ( which we all know was overrated anyway, no need to rehash all that ) and being excited for a decent comeback album

People really like Stillmatic that much? It’s got a few great tracks but it can get pretty boring. That’s the main difference between Jay and Nas, Nas albums other than Illmatic can put you to sleep, but even less than stellar Jay is still interesting. ^^ imo, hottest track on Stillmatic was the intro. No cosign to the boring though, not with tracks like rewind, one mic, and you’re the man. Stillmatic was nothing short of incredible.

SD was a little too much for everyone. Just about every topic you can think of was covered on that album….social, political, story telling, marriage, relationships, commercial, a song with his dad, song for his daughter and some other shit. I’m a fan of diverse albums so SD was good with me. Most people don’t like albums with narrow content so they couldn’t get into it.

I remember hearing a Saigon interview a couple years ago where he said Nas killed SD lyrically, but the beats held it back. I agree with him on that.
