^^yeah he had some weak lines, but he got his point across i.e. he was saying something with a flow that is unmatched in hiphop right now. Flow and lyrics are equally important, or else you have someone doing slam poetry over music, no knock on that (Saul Williams is a beast), but how often would you listen to a track where the words dont flow with music?

In this day and era though, flow’s by far the most important thing. Truthfully, if it weren’t for Jay’s flow, he wouldn’t even be on anyone’s top ten… he’s definitely not top ten lyrically. Wayne’s like a Busta or a Meth in their primes, he has a unique style and delivery, his lyrics are subpar at times but at least he’s different, it’s not all, my gun bust this, I have some yams at my auntie’s house that. Given the sorry state of rap these days, those two things combined may be good enough to make him the best rapper alive.

Some people give lyrics more weight than flow and thats cool if thats your preference, but thats not hiphop doctrine.
