Jim Jones Signs Label Deal with Sony
So Miss Info spoke to Jimmy about an interesting deal he just signed with Sony.
Says the Capo:
“I just left the lawyer’s office. I signed a multimillion dollar joint venture with Sony. My boss is Rick Rubin and Hip Hop (Kyambo Joshua) is doing my albums with me. What you think Jay-Z is gonna think about that?”
Well damn. He says he did a 50/50 label deal, has a track with Rubin and he’s about to wild out.

Sony’s giving Jim Jones millions of dollars? They’d probably profit more giving the real Jim Jones that money, and he’s been dead for decades.
And I just read the last post and this “Jay asked Puff, “What are you doing with these tracks?” Puff was like, “I don’t even know. It’s just some cool shit, I listen to around my house. Walking around with my socks on and shit.” made me think of Dave Chappelle wearing socks and drinking Cambodian breast milk.

This is for the young boys that are to sld to understand jayz lyrics
So what if you flip a couple words,
I could triple at that in birds,
Open your mind you see the circus in the sky.
I’m Ringling brothers Barnum Bailey with the pies,
No matter how you slice it,
I’m your mother-f**king guy
And just like a B-boy with 360 waves
Do the same with the pot,
Still come back beige.
Whether right or south paw,
Whether pot or a jar
Whip it around,
It still comes back hard.
So easily do I W-H-I-P,
My repitition with riches will bring the kilo business,
I got kreole C-O bitches, for my niggas who slipped,
Became prisoners,
Treat’s taped to the visitors.
You already know what the business is
Unnecessary commissary, boy we live this shit.
Niggas Wanna bring the 80s back,
That’s okay with me, that’s where they made me at.
Except I don’t write on the wall,
I write my name in the history books, hustling in the hall
Nah, I don’t spin on my head, I spin work in the pots,
So I can spend my bread.
Chorus:
And I’m getting it I’m getting it
I aint talking about it, I’m living it
I’m getting it, straight getting it
Get get get get get get get it boy
(Don’t waste your time, fighting the law, state your voice, and you’ll understand)
Get it boy
This ‘87 state of mind that I’m in,
In my prime, so for that time, I’m Rakim
If it wasn’t for the crime that I was in
But I wouldn’t be the guy who’s rhymes it is that i’m in
No pay no profit,
P, I’ll repeat it to show you where the pot is
Cherry M3s with the top back
Red and green Gs all on my hat
North beach leathers,
Matching Gucci sweater,
Gucci sneaks on to keep my outfit together
Whatever, hundred for the diamond chain
Can’t you tell that I came from the dope game
Blame Reagan for making me into a monster
Blame Oliver north and Iran-Contra
I ran contraband that they sponsored
Before this rhyming stuff we was in concert
Push, money over broads you got it,
F**k Bush
Chef, guess what I cooked
Baked a lot of bread,
And kept it off the books.
Rockstars,
Look,
Way before the bars my picture was getting took
Feds, they like wack rappers.
Try as they may they couldn’t get me on the hook
D.A. wanna indicte me,
Cause fish scales in my veins like a pisces
The pirecs pot roll up my sleeves,
Turn one into two like a Siamese twin when it end
Imma stand as a man never dying on my knees,
Last of a dying breed
So let the champagne pop,
I partied for a while now I’m back to the Block.

^ For me its notthe single, its the fact that I know he got a street album in him. Anything within throwing distance of “Reasonable Doubt” will be a success.
^^^
that makes a lil bit of since, but what can he talk about besides the dough he got now. i’m sure he got a few songs em him but i think the album is not gonna be like the single. maybe the movie inspired him but i just can’t see him putting out N E more classic material

Also, If Jim Jones was smart he would stick to the executive side of the table because thats where his real talent is. Ask the average person who liked “Ballin” what Jim Jones second single was. Its highly unlikely he will EVER have anything remotely close to “Ballin” success wise.

i didnt mean thats why it was successful, im saying it coulda subliminally made southern rap me accessable to the masses for the future, you get it? like having a nyc rapper who rapped with a southern drawl as the biggest in the game, and having so many people listen to him, made people more used to hearing southernlike drawls in rap, im not saying thats why he was successful, im sayin 50 was the cause and the popularity of southern rap yrs later was an effect, even though it happened subliminally, like below level, get on my level man
^^
you reaching.
50s success has little to do him sounding southern and the rise of the south has NOTHING to do with 50.

50 got rich and happens to sound more southern than your avg Queens MC. That doesnt mean he sounds southern or that he got rich off a southern accent. 50 could always write a crazy hook and was always hungrier then the avg mc. I was bumping that gods plan etc all day every day at the time.
If it that easy to get rich Killer mike wouldnt be crying poverty in every magazine or blog he can find.

Jim probably got millions to market and promote his releases, i.e. a multimillion dollar budget. Same deal that David Banner got with SRC (who got a 10 million dollar budget for his first three records, recording, marketing, etc, not a check for 10 mill). It’s not like they gave him a multimillion dollar advance.
