Hold up, hold up. If anything can save the game right now, it’s a new Wu album. If it is ANY fire (no Curtis) it will go plat. Graduation and Curtis should have gone plat but both albums were a bit weak. I mean, it’s really up to marketing, but even without marketing, the name Wu-Tang should sell a million albums as long as it’s decent.

Is Wu still relevant as a whole group? I dig GFK and Rakwon’s occasional verse, but who else? Where’e Deck been? Gza? Do we even need to hear ANY MORE verses from Cappadonna, the Jarobi of Wu Tang? They better show something.

Iron Flag is hot, most of it is off the meat rack…they killed their fanbase with the “w”, which by all accounts is very weak…Deck has released two solo albums and a mixtape, with only “the Movement” containing anything substantial…GZA released “Legend of the Liquid Sword” aboutt 4 years and it is sick, this was right at the beginning of the downloading craze so no one really heard about it, but it’s fire…”Grandmasters - GZA vs. Muggs” came out about a year ago and is absolutely insane…classic beats and rhymes, disgustingly unmentioned and overlooked…Masta Killa’s last two cd’s have been very very solid…he is what he is, but he doesn’t try to do too much and has very rugged rza’sh beats throughout…As for Mef, “4:21 the day after” is probably his best work since Tical, which doesn’t say much, but it is a solid release after the attrocious tragedy known as “Tical 0 the Prequal”…Cappa got some hot lines on Fishscale…obviously Ghost is holding it down…never even checked out Icewater, I was an American Cream Team fan (RIP Chip Banks) so anything else after them is wack in comparison to me…

SOOOOOOOOOOO are they relevant as a group? Probably not…they’ll never get the vintage WU sound that we all crave back again and we’ll never hear another WU song getting mad radio love - you think “Triumph” would get any love if it was released today? I think not…14 year old girls and one dimensional rap fans have little use for a song with no hook that they can’t sing along with the lame chorus…here’s hoping they put together something gritty and deep and give us true wu fans something to enjoy, fuck everyone else - they ain’t gonna come to your shows anyway! (seen wu about 10x)
