greatest hits are about songs that are singles/bring you fame. it’s just that those songs early in his career were really dope records, while later in his career they were crossover attempts or “a&r’d” singles. I don’t even blame nas tho.. it’s how the game changed. but you can’t expect the greatest hits albums to have those ill album cuts and whatnot.

…except for 2pac’s greatest hits. that was actually a good compilation of music.. not his absolute best stuff, but pac brought it regardless on his singles (all of them being before the industry completely shot itself in the foot) so it doesn’t seem as up&down love it/hate it as nas’.

Looks like he has all of the bases covered…aiight tracklist, but there’s no way I’m copping this, and I’m a bonafide Nas stan…it’s just that I have all of these tracks already, except for Oochie Wally, which I don’t want, because it’s only slightly above my least favorite Nas joint, “You Owe Me”…I woulda liked to have seen some of the Lost Tapes ish on here as bonus tracks, though…maybe Black Republican, too…this tracklist is kinda like “Nas! That’s What I Call Music, Vol. 1!!”…lol

lol, na, I was just playing, Nas is known for alot of classic singles not club joints. I credit “what you know’s” success to great production, anyone could have turned that joint into banger of the year. If they gave that joint to Jeezy he would have made it a nice club banger too. As for big things poppin Cassidy and Fab sounded better than TI on it, TI’s style just somehow doesn’t flow on the beat especially in comparision to Cassidy and Fab on the same beat, they just sounded better on it, even swizz did. Mannie Fresh is quite a good producer in my opinion though.

These niggas deserve an award just for bringing us Redman and beef curry Keith Murray. What more do I need to say about their production prowess? EPMD was all about hardcore unflinching boom bap rap music. Nevermind that E Double might have been taking business from the backdoor. That doesnâ€™t stop rappers from being popular anymore. The only bangers on King in my opinion where What You Know, Why You wanna (remix sounds better), Get It, Stand Back, and Top Back.

The majority of the beats where overproduced and didn’t sound so good, TI makes good club tracks but he hardly switches up his flow, he sounded the same on every song, on some songs he just doesn’t sound right on the beat, don’t know why but you’ll know when you hear them.

Yeah but Young Dro>TI though, Dro has bertter delivery, voice, lyrics and presence on the mic. He has alot of nice punchlines too.

King wasn’t that bad, the intro, i’m talking to you, are cetified classic songs, I think it was the order of the songs on the album that made it boring @ times, like undertaker & i’m straight being back to back, the sound exactly like the same song, both are good, but they would’ve sounded better seperated, rather then back to back.

The Carter 2 is a damn nice album though, beatwise and lyrically Wayne was just on top of his game. There are hardly any skipable tracks, and there are a fair share of bangers on there. Anything that isn’t a banger on there was still nice lyrically.

If anyone should have the right to call themselves king of the south it should be wayne before TI. In all honesty, not hating or nothing

Yeah he is, when I first listened to The Carter 2 I was just suprised by the beats and weezy’s lyrics/flow. I mean I don’t like his music anywhere as much right now, he seems to have fallen of slightly, still has a great work ethic but off late he’s been saying some non sensical shit on his songs, but I had Carter 2 on constant rotation when it initially came out.

Its a way better album than King/ Tip vs TI, I’d say its on the level as Urban Legend.
