^You were right. Indies are killin’ the majors right now, as they should. I just had a talk about that with the homie Shawn Lee (Duepayers). We was talkin’ about the Jill Scott album and how I should support and cop it while it’s still $9.99. I said yeah, maybe you right because I didn’t cop the retails of 50 or Ye (especially knowin’ all the white kids were gonna support enough to support the finances of both rappers). He was talkin’ about how the ‘Ye/50 brouhaha was like voting: it won’t change anything but you gotta do it anyway (being that he copped Ye, which was like voting for Kerry). And I said, great point. But if that’s the case, then I support the independents: don’t have a chance in hell in winning but their politics are great (c) Ralph Nadar.
With that being said, the album Sky did with 9th is on my To Cop list, amongst others that I overlooked or don’t have in the collection.

Milk Dee: It’s so many. I can’t even tell you how many sample clearances I get a month. Most people don’t even have the slightest idea. I don’t really care. I don’t want to be part of anything that’s ya know, crazy. A lot of time I don’t get a chance to hear them before they’re cleared. I look at it as an honor for people to use me. And of course, it’s revenue.
I would say I’m easing up on a hundred [times the song’s been sampled] right now. I got stack and stacks and stacks of sample clearances. A lot of people don’t know the small ones I get from overseas. There was a big song by a group called All Saints overseas that was a multi-platinum single. They don’t know about it here but they used “Top Billin’†in it—I get a lot of those.

^That “it” is called hunger. I had an epiphany about that the other day, and how it’s directly related to physical hunger. When you’re full after eating for so long, you can’t force an appetite. You can’t make yourself want to eat more because your brain is tellin’ you that your stomach has had enough. Otherwise, you’d just be regurgitating (vomiting). And that’s basically what a lot of rappers who have financial success is doin’. They’re tryin’ to force a hunger with no appetite (c) any financially successful rapper.

@ Land… Speakin’ of Pearle Vision, I stay askin’ for extra boxes of free contact lens solution whenever I’m coppin’ new ones. What’s worse, is that I come back the next day and tell ‘em that I forgot to get some solution the day before, and then asks for two more boxes. That technique be lasts me for about 4 months until I gotta cop a box from the store.
